What are my options?
Will be turning 37 this Aug.
My IELTS score is: R:9 L:8 W:7 S:7.
My CRS is 395. Does it make any sense for me to give 2nd attempt? Even if I score good points, I would still be losing 5 points due to my age
Improve IELTS to L8.5 / R 8 / S&W 7.5 will get you 12 points.
learn French over next 1 year & write TEF and secure CLB7 equivalent or above score
(R 207 & above W 310 & above L 249 & above S 310 & above)
if you are able to score as above in TEF ur score will go up by another 42 points (30 points for strong French ability recently introduced & 12 points as second official language)

if over next one year / six months u struggle really hard there is a scope of improving 54 points...
however,it is likely that the CRS cut off may come down to 385 levels within six months...only worry is the recent delay in conducting the 66th draw which is now certain to push the cut off to near 430 because of automatic additions of profiles on daily basis.
---
provincial nomination is another way...but documentation generally hard as Ontario requires every documents pertaining to each job u did in last 10 years ,though they have indicated they will start issuing nominations to ppl below 400 soon.....other regions nominations may be more friendly...there is a thread on provincial nomination programs..follow that as well..

1.Sit tight & improve IELTS ( 402)
2.Work hard to get CLB10 IELTS & CLB7 TEF (444)
3.wait for provincial nomination and prepare the documents.
