Can't blame him, though. I bet he is too excited causing him to stress out in every little detail. He gotta chill. No matter how you tell him to be patient, he just won't be. :D Anyway, Jeff, I'd say it still: Be d*mn patient! :D Everything will fall into its rightful place soon enough. Posting a thread with the same concerns every now and then about the process won't make your case any faster. Quit the forum for a while. This will only make you more stressed. Good luck.
I agree. I cant blame anyone. It's very difficult, we all went thru that (and im still going thru it because my PR Card has not been sent, and it's now beyond the 57 days...and Ive been calling IRCC and they say everything is in order). It's really a test of optimism and patience :)

I think Ive said this in the other threads, but I am optimistic youll get a PPR within 2-3 weeks assuming everything is in order. But in the off chance it doesnt happen that way, be patient. I think there is just a backlog happening because even PR cards are getting delayed (it's now 57 days from the usual 42). I remember you stressing out at each point of the process, but like I told you even before, I think youll be fine (and so far ive been right) :) the worst case scenario is youll fall in the 6 months processing category (that's the worst). But I am betting your wife will land sometime in July :)
The six month processing category??
Lol do Americans usually only take six months???

It's not so much stress, it is a lot of excitement! Knowing we get to finally live our lives both working in Canada after all this time!

If my personal experience and the experiences of my friends are any indication, then yes 3-6 months is the usual for US citizen spouses. I myself still cant believe it only took 3 months from the time I got AOR1 to the time I landed. It was a pleasant surprise.

We all know that feeling as well. :) Every thought or feeling youve had (and currently having), weve gone through that too in one way or the other. Youre not alone in those feelings. July 18 is 3 months from the time you got AOR1, and I think that's your ballpark date. im quite optimistic with your application. :)

Usually us citizens get it in 3-4 months. So 6 months it's (the worst) the longest it can take.
We're days away from the six-month mark ourselves, just waiting on the CoPR now. We spent a LOT of time waiting - 2 months for SA, 2 1/2 months between the start of the background check and final decision. I have to say, I am definitely not sad it's over.

Does background check for Americans using the new app start after medicals are passed?

Hello all – long-time listener, first-time caller. Thanks for all the info on the board, it’s been very helpful in navigating such a stressful process. Posting my timeline below – any insights or comments much appreciated

PA is a US citizen being sponsored by Canadian spouse using new forms, no dependents. Submitted medical and police clearance upfront. Also submitted RCMP fingerprints as I had lived in Canada previously under student and post grad visas

App received Feb 20th

AOR1: 3/4/17 (PA was able to link account same day and sent Schedule A via portal 3/5)

Sponsor Approval: 3/10

AOR 2: 3/13/17 (application received at CPC Ottawa 3/15)

Request of Passport scans 4/27 ( the passport in my application was close to the expiry date and CPC Ottawa requested updated info)

In Ecas – I have 3 lines and it states my case went into process 3/15

In myCIC – My application and background are both listed in process. My medicals are still under review. No updates since my Schedule A was received

Like everyone – hope to hear something soon. Things seemed to be moving but it’s been awhile since I’ve heard anything. Any insight is much appreciated!

This is so true.
This past week I gave up on keeping up to date with every forum and pretty much just answering a few small questions in the facebook page. And I've never been more relaxed with this process.
It also might be because CIC told me we'd be going to Ottawa after Mississauga finished eligibility check.
And I heard with eligibility. No news is good news. And it's been like 3 months since we heard AOR1 so I'm just hoping they're almost done with eligibility.
So I'm being positive.

TL;DR
Even if CIC is lying I'm trying not to think of that.

I thought eligibility for Americans doesn't change until decision made on gckey?

My husband is landing as I type this. I can't believe how nervous I am. He's the one doing it and I want to throw up.

We've been waiting for this day since we got married, three years ago. Been doing the long-distance thing for almost six years. So happy to be done!
