I added this sentence as well: We do not know any case from Ankara who has passed the normal processing time and who got PR (all waiting after one year). Maybe our files should be transferred to a different visa office due to backlog in Ankara.

Strenght2 it's a very good letter to Minister of Immigration, I hope we will hear something from him. I really don't know what Ankara is doing, but I received the same letter response from Ankara like Mina124. So go and figure what they are up too. It's just too tiring and unfair. CIC should be considering transferring our files to a different v/o office. Noting moves in Ankara, and no communication. Canada is really working hard on reuniting families.Crazy. I don't like empty promises.

Did you guys know that you won't need to call or email Ankara for an update anymore?
Now you can call immigration Canada at 18882422100 and choose the right option and then it asks you to select the word that your application number starts with and then you follow the instructions, it will give you all the details and where you are at, it told me that my husband doesn't need to do medical and he doesn't need an interview and it also said that they are doing background check.
So just thought to let you know

I did not know about this. Thank you. But the info is basically what you can see in myCIC as well. right? When MP calls or you ask gcnote you may also see the dates when security started, assignment due date, etc.

Now we are already 20th century. What are security agencies doing?!! Why can't Ankara, IRCC, MP, Mininster, etc bring this into their control and they keep saying it is out of their control and there is no deadline?!!!!

We are awaiting a reply from the OGD to be able to complete the background checks. This is a required element of our assessment and the file cannot be finalized without it.

In reviewing the file I see that the medical result has expired. We are updating it.

Your police certificate has also expired. Please send us a new Iranian Police Certificate with translation into either English or French.

We are not in a position to advise when the OGD will be able to provide their input. Please rest assured that we are checking the file regularly for the input and will proceed once it is received.

We will be in contact when we are ready to take the next step in processing.

What does "Other Government Department (OGD)" mean?
they admit our file does not fall within the standard processing time

It may 10% mean an Other Government department than IRCC (http://www.fedex.com/ca_english/international/regulatorynews/ogd.html)

or an Other Government department means a department out of the Canadian Government department (which can mean an Iranian department or some people say a US department like FBI or FBI partners)

maybe she can ask them.

If you applied before December 7, 2016
We’ve committed to processing most (80 percent) of the applications we’ve already received as of December 7, 2016, by the end of December 2017. We process applications in the order we get them.

It is very disappointing but we are within 20% and there is even no guarantee that it comes by Dec 2017.

Please visit a MP and let us know your MP. We are writing different important emails to the minister of immigration, prime minister, etc. You may join us by adding your MP name.

It looks like last year applicants from May, June, July are all stuck and waiting God only knows for what. Just curious what the heck is Ankara doing?
