Wife's Surname

hi everyone
Is it mandatory to have wife's surname changed. As per her passport, her dads name is mentioned as surname. since i'll be the primary applicant and we'll be showing marriage certificate for proofs for our relationship. Does CIC look for her surname to check our relationships(Marriage) authenticity?? also should she change in her passport?

It is not mandatory or required to change your wife's surname. CIC will ask for the marriage certificate to prove your marriage.
