Passport to CPC Ottawa - May 2017

What information do we have to provide when we call the CIC to check our application's status?

i also called this afternoon, the lady told me they sent out the passport already yesterday but somehow my return is not activated. Also called canada post they couldnt find any information on the tracker information i provided. I took a pic of my return envelope so the tracker # is correct, hope they dont loose my passport, otherwise it will be really bad.

We are in a same boat..Don't worry..Hopefully today it will get activated...

I sent passport on 24 may reached on 25th but i called ottawa office today they said they received on 29 May and its in process of printing queue. why this delay i don't understand and how long it'll take now please tell if anybody know.....

My guess -

1. They approve it
2. They send it for stamping which takes around a day
3. Depending on which batch it's stamped in its sent to Canada post that day or the next day
4. They could be sending the passports to Canada post in batches
5. Canada post processes then in batches


I expect that the tracker will be activated tonight

I forgot to keep the tracking number of my return envelope! Therefore I only have to wait for PP to be delivered to my mailbox. It should arrive next week hopefully.

Also read on one of the other forums - sometimes Canada post doesn't update the trackers due to the volume of passports

Called CIC today (June 1st), the lady told me the passport has already been sent from the office for delivery, check the tracker after 6.30, it should get activated.
So let's see what happens at 6.30. Fingers crossed.

I don't think that's correct.

They stamp it and only then status changes to "Approved". They send it back and tracker gets activated later that night or next day.

They definitely process in batches.
