Query in personal activities and work experience

Hello everyone,

I have got an ITA with 461 points, currently in process of filling up forms and gathering all required documents. However, i m stucked in one area as CIC might find it confusing,

I am a residence of UAE. I have shown work experience from March 2014 till date as 3+ years experince (i.e after MBA completion Feb 2014). Whereas i have been working with this company since Sept 2013.

I have an old residence visa of UAE from Sept 2013 to 2015 and then it got renewed (current) from Sept 2015 to 2017 under the same company.

My question is if i disclose the length of employment in my personal activities as mentioned above, it coincides with my MBA (last 6 months) which will confuse my work experience as mentioned initially. Please advice.

My second question is that i have renewed my passport in 2015, do we need to scan the pages of old passport as well or just the current one is enough?. Because i am unable to locate my old passport at the moment.

FSW-O can have skilled work experience while they are studying. You just need to have an employment letter. Put few lines in the letter of explanation telling them that you were offered a job and you took that job while completing last semester.

-- You don't need old passport. current and valid passport only !

I m applying for my spouse also alongwith my application, i havent claimed any points for her education and work experience but i have filled up her education and work experience in ITA form. Do i need to send them scanned copies of her transcript, degrees and work experience?

Owais, in UAE you are issued a visa under the name of the company and CIC has got nothing to do with it ! As long as you have maintained residence status and you put your address and travel history they are alright.

-- You should put a date for which you can get a letter from your employer. Your employer will be confirming your joining date and that is part of your work history !
-- Passport is not used for travel history verification and expired passports are not required.
-- You should not list her working experience as you can not claim any points for her work experience. You can use her work details as a part of her personal history and she does not have to collect any letter from her employer.

Thanks alot for your response. It did clarify my worries to some extent. However, Just to summarize as below, please advice if it needs correction,

Personal activity
Employment - March 2014 to current

Work history
March 2014 to current (i can get letter from march 2014 from employer even though i joined them in sept2013)

Should i keep the same date under personal activity as work experience ??? and there will be no overlapping in that with my mba and work.

One last area of concern,

As you know about UAE employer visa, my original visa was pasted in my old passport in Sept 2013 which is already cancelled.

My current visa on my new passport is from Sept 2015 to Sept 2017. (As per UAE law, the visa length is just 2 years and then it renews or cancels based on ur job).

Will CIC ask my old visa from employer which is already cancelled? Provided i m issuing them the letter of experience from 2014 to current. And if they ask my old visa, this will contradict my current work experience and personal activities as mentioned above. Hope i explained my area of concern clearly.

If you are making those changes and your employer can provide you letter with different joining date then it is alright ! You have to be persistent and very careful in personal and work history dates and just don't mess up things !

CIC does not ask for your previous visa to verify your employment, this purpose is served by the employment experience certificates etc. If even if they will ask you visa, this is not going to be used to establish your work history. You know in UAE you can get promotion and a different title, but your Visa can still show the old employment designation, THIS is a UAE Specialty!

my only concern is if they inquire about my old visa from me or via UAE immigration. it will lead to misrepresentation in personal activities and work history may be. i am unable to decide what to do here.

Moreover, i use to go to pakistan (my home country) very frequently, sometimes on weekends even. I dont know if the police certificate has a date on it. if you are aware about any such thing please let me know.

I have just reviewed my application, i have filled up my spouse work experience in EE profile but they have given me points for,

Skills transferability - Foreign work experience = 50 points

This relates to my experience points. right ?
