Some people still proceed to do it upfront to be honest, but as MM mentioned you don't need to do it. Given how it is back-home n how it can take time, I asked my wife to start the process for the police certificate so that I have it ready to go once I receive SA.

btw @MM345, I am sure this is asked a lot n there is an easy answer but I am not sure what some of the acronyms mean past SA & AOR1 lol. Can you help me point in the direction? They should really sticky this stuff (I honestly couldn't find anything).

I wish I found this thread earlier, paper work was/is not that hard, it is finding things here and there. For good 2 months I was on wrong checklist which was of 2 pages but for us it is the 6 pages ones IMM5533 . And with work and Canadian Life style, it gets overwhelming. My target is to submit in June once I get things from wife.

Thank you, I think I missed reading police certificate to submit as an sponsor so thanks for the heads up. Also, if something is already in English , and she is sending me a photocopy, does that need to be attested too or it is only apllicable for something which is not in English ?

Only for documents in urdu.

LVO: London Visa Office
AOR1: Acknowledgement of Receipt 1 from Case Processing Center-Missisuaga that app package has been received
SA: Sponsor approval
AOR2: Acknowledgement of Receipt 2 from the Visa Office that app package has been received. Please note that the London Visa Office does not send AOR2.
DM: Decision Made status shown on ECAS portal (ECAS is online tool to check application status: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=)
PPR: Passport request letter sent by Visa office to stamp your passport.
COPR: Confirmation of Permanent Residence letter given to you with your stamped passport which will allow you to land as a Permanent resident (PR)

On this form there are sections for citizenship, address, date left/entered Canada. My wife is coming here for the first time hence she does not have a Canadian citizenship number or card. Should she write her Pakistan citizenship info? What about address, should it be for Canada or Pakistan. She has not lived here yet so should she give my Canadian address? Last section, it asks for date left/entered Canada. What should she write there? Thanks

I am currently in US and have been offered a position here and am thinking of moving there, since I am Canadian citizen will be on TN status. Does anyone know if we can apply for Wife's visa to US while she is waiting for her Canadian PR ? If yes how long does it take and can US Consulate in Khi able to do so.

It will take 3 - 4 days to apply and get an interview. Its very easy to apply for the visa but difficult to get it. you can try and tell them the reason and see if you are successful. Mine got rejected couple of months ago

quick question.. People have been saying that the more frequently I contact the LVO for updates, the more it will reflect negatively on the application. Is that true?

That is odd. It is part of the list of things to include for the applicant so maybe they didn't see it at the Mississauga office? I am sure they will want/ask for it when the file is transferred. When did your file transfer to LVO?

It hasn't been transferred yet, I uploaded the Schedule A and PCC through MyCIC last Monday.

they sent Medical request, Police Certificate and RPRF fees on 9th May, i submitted all the document on 22nd May and within 5 hours they sent me PPR.

I stayed in uk for more than 5 years . I came back my home country in January 2017, i got married in march with canadian girl. I didn't file my application yet . I red the form that if anybody lived outside the country more than 6 months must provide the police clearance certificate. Unfortunately i was overstayed in uk bcoz my college has been revoked . Any one help me i am worried about it . Shell i apply for police clearance certificate in uk or not ? If i applied may be they mentioned criminal records on there bcoz i was overstayed in uk . My wife didn't apply yet for sponsorship.

yes you can definitely apply for her visit visa..i also applied for US visa last year in august while my application was in process and i got the visa. the officer mainly asked about my immigration process and my husband status in canada..soo i believe i got the visa because of my canadian immigration because they knew im gonna come back

There is no evidence of this. Many people here applied for their notes every 2 months or so and regularly sent status update inquiries. They had their file processed in 7-9 months which btw is the average processing time. Hope this helps

If you guys will move to US, be prepared to receive query from LVO of your intent to return to Canada. LVO will review whether you, the sponsor has intention to return to Canada and will approve your spouse's PR application accordingly.
