Hello, I am March 13, 2016 applicant, I called CIC, they said your Security is in process where as when i sent email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca, i got reply saying ur file is in CIO-Sydeny. I thought security check happens in Ottawa ? Or once security check is done than they move it to ottawa ?

Hello Team,

This is my 18th month for the PR file. Stuck in security screening ofcourse. Contacted MP, CIC, case specific inquiry, MLA, GCM notes, with no help at all.

The reason why i contacted all the above is the following.

My current job includes traveling to other provinces. In other words, my office is in Edmonton but my area includes more than Alberta. I travel on little projects here and there.

My work permit expired, CIC sent me a new bridging work permit that is Alberta specific, the HR of the company i work at questioned that line, i connected with CIC, they said they have no documentation and i should take it to the province though it is a CIC document. Took it to the province (MLA), they said yes i can not travel on projects here and there.

What a joke ! I will loose my job very soon because of this !

It's my own opinion, and should not be considered legally. However, I would guess if you get paid from the Alberta company, and the company's entitlement is under Alberta registration, you should be okay.
I had a similar case when I applied for AINP: my company HQ is in Toronto, I'm working in Alberta, and the mother company is in Calgary. My payment is coming from Toronto office, but the company entitlement is in Alberta. My contract and collective agreement is under Alberta registration. You think this may be complex? After all, I was determined to be working in Alberta.

It's not just PNP applications but all paper economic category applicantions are being extremely delayed. I just checked the processing time for federal skilled worker and Canadian experience class categories and they are more than 30 months. Express entry has taken over all their resources I think. But what about us PNP applicants? Despite having been nominated by a province there's no use.

EE and Paper based process are two different office. No resource has been taken. The real problem was due to the unfair score system of the first gen EE, tons of people gave up applying EE but went PNP/FSW process. This gave too much workload to CIO-S and we're just at the peak of the whole mess unfortunately.

The paper is sufficient enough for travels as it acts as a interim pr card.
