As we have seen some pinned post in other threads, I humbly request the experienced users to write down a Pinned post where every needful steps will be written for newly nominated immigrants who are planning to move in there soon or just moved in.
1. what are the necessary steps they need to do before move in?
2. after arrival, what steps they need to take with priorities??
Thank you

I created a list a while back...I've also included a link for those leaving the UAE (some activities apply everywhere)...

Leaving the UAE Checklist - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1abn0wuXmdeA1YM6fWeoSGKPG2nVFhVQa0s6jQh8ugYc/edit#gid=0

Landing and settling checklist https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19iIDQXsnVXK1SuDNZyT2uUJDlo6CkUSTmsXambuOvP4/edit#gid=0

Hope it helps!

Hi chilkootcee,

The spreadsheets are way too good than what I was in process of preparing. Although I am still waiting for my medicals to clear - the landing is far off (at least few months).
I was interested to understand how did you manage your funds from UAE to be transferred to Canada?

Thanks in Advance...

Do not burn your cables in your home country- in case you will return.
Upon landing, get your SIN no, your health card and a bank account. Begin building credit history.
Warning! Do not have high expectations for jobs or even education. You may break down with depression. You will be spending a lot of your own money or living on student loans to get a certificate as a foothold into a job- any job.
With time you will get addicted to having good infrastructure and a sense of security that you may not wish to return back to your home country- if your country is terrible. Also, you would be drowning in student loans and shopping on credit that you cannot run away from Canada. Besides, your kids would not want to leave Canada.
