Education Gap - 10 Years

Hi,

I have an education gap of over 10 years since I finished my higher secondary. I have been working constantly since then and am employed with a organisation at the senior management level. I recently applied with a college in Manitoba and they gave me an LOA.

I am taking my first year tuition fees as an education loan, second year fees and GIC is being paid for by me (finances are proper). I am wondering if my education gap could a possible reason for my visa application being turned down. While it's not mentioned on the CIC website, I read different answers regarding this on many forums.

Kindly help. Any other inputs for the visa application (I am planning to do this myself) would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Difficult to say without knowing what course you applied for and how that relates to your education or work experience. A gap is a consideration but not the only one.

I applied for a 2-year Diploma in Business Administration.
I am engaged in a sales role for a brokerage house for about 10 years now.

U have a good chance if there is a progression in ur study plan n good academic records. But depends on visa officer. U need to give strong sop for future plans. All d best

I had a study gap of 6 years with high school as my last academic qualification. I had applied for a diploma course and I got OPR on the first attempt. I had poor grades in high school, but had work experience of 5 years, lots of certifications and PTE English test equivalent to IELTS 8 overall. Each case is different but just gap in academics is not something they would reject you on alone. Best of luck.
