ScotiaBank Canada offers a StartRight Program, by which, you can open a bank account there while still in your home country and wire transfer your money. I have attended their webinar and they confirmed that it can be used as proof of funds. Also, it relieves you from the worry of carrying too much cash.

can I bank statement in home country showing the amount of money has in the account in Canadian Dollar enough to be a proof of fund? This is because we do not want to bring over or transfer that much amount of money to Canada yet as we are only doing short landing. please advise. thanks

1. The charges for cash withdrawal in ATM (the bank from which i have taken forex card says 2.5 CAD per transaction but are there any charges levied by the ATM owner bank?)
2. Maximum amount of cash withdrawal that we can make in single transaction
