Hi guys,
I am very excited to receive ITA from EE program yesterday. However when it comes to Statutory Questions in the Personal History section, there are 3 questions I am not sure about.
1. Has my name ever committed, been arrested for, been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence in any country?
2. Has my name ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?
3. Has my name been detained, incarcerated, or put in jail?
Well, I am not surprised that they ask this but I am uncertain about the answers.
I dated a girl 4 years in Canada. When we had a horrible fight (not psychically), she called 911. The police came to arrest me, put (or detained, or incarcerated) me in a cell (jail?) for 2 - 3 hours and then decided to charge me assault. I hired a lawyer and it took me almost 1 year to have the case withdrawn. I waited for 5 more months to have the figure prints destroyed. 2 years ago, when I renewed my TRV, I mentioned the above event and they refused because I did not provide enough evidence. I requested the court report and then I have the TRV successfully renewed.
Therefore, I assumed all my 3 questions are marked as "yes"; however, I am uncertain about the explanation. I am also afraid of being refused the PR because of this. The above mentioned case does not look as "dirty" as it is but I understand being charged "assault" is very serious trouble here. Could anyone please advise how to write a proper explanation or request any supporting documents?
Thank you very much!
Best regards
