For ECA which is preferred-WES, CES or ICAS

Hi All,
I am new to this forum but have been reading all the threads.You all are doing a commendable job.
I intend to apply for Express entry and currently i am in the process for arranging my docs for ECA.
I have 4 yrs mechanical engg degree.during my engg i also appeared for B.A as a private candidate.So basically i have 2 bachelors.Bsc engg and B.A.I wanted to ask what would be my ECA evaluation.And what is the best organization to get my docs assesed.WES or CES.
Would appreciate a reply.

And CES gives you as masters and undergrad equivalence. Is this true for most people? Do you recommend WES or CES. I heard most people go with WES...why is that the case?

WES takes lesser time to give you the ECA report whereas CES takes several months to do the same. However, judging from reviews of subscribers on this forum, CES results seem to be generally more favorable for candidates than WES.

I myself used CES twice (once to get my Bachelors degree assessed in 2014, once to get my Masters degree assessed in 2016), they took about 4 months to give me the ECA in each case. WES gives the ECA within a month's time I think. My ECA from CES was up to my expectations (Bachelors = 16 years of education, Masters = 18 years of education).

If you have a time constraint then I would recommend you go with WES. If not, then CES is a better option (in my opinion). You may also go for CES later if the WES ECA is not up to your expectations.

I would suggest WES. They evaluated my degree very fast. The only thing they requires is that your documents are properly sealed and signed from your university. Once you have that, you are golden

Unfortunately, they take 3 months approximately. I have done 4 years of BS and 2 years of MS. I have heard from 2 people till now that CES has evaluated their Masters as Masters. I asked WES for a revaluation and after 2 weeks they replied that there is no mistake. We consider the scope of the degree and the ranking of the institution. I have my degrees in Software Engineering and Software project management having excellent scope and my university is the top university for computer science in my country. So I see no reason why. What is your degree?

Which university did you graduate from? Sorry for asking but this will help me evaluate. I've done from SZABIST.

I have worst ever experience with ICES/BCIT.
My university does not send transcripts directly to any of ECA Authorities. so I have mailed ICES my transcripts in sealed envelope which I have got from my university, they did not accepted it I have waited almost for 2 weeks and my university also did not agree to send transcript to BCIT hence I had to cancel the process with BCIT and they did not refund my money also.

So without even processing my application they took entire money. worst ever Organization to get your degree evaluation done.

So please be aware if your university does not send directly Transcripts to any Organization do not go with ICES/BCIT.

Help!!! I have done my PGDM from Symbiosis (SCMHRD), India. WES did not consider my 2 year course and evaluated only my engineering. I sent a response back to WES stating that the college has been established under UGC and accredited by NAAC. The response I got was "AICTE is responsible for accreditation/ recognition in India. It does not accredit institutions as a whole but rather, individual program of study. According to our resources, the program you enrolled in is not accredited"

Should I now attempt to evaluate through CES or would it be futile? I am not sure if they also go by AICTE recommendation of individual courses. Appreciate your inputs...

I wanted to know what did u do regaring your ECA. Even I have faced the same problem with WES. I replied to them saying that my institute is established under UGC and I got the same response that u did. I am confused if I should go for ECA with other organization like IQAS or I shouldnt. Could you please suggest what I should do based on your experience?

Hello Vishan,

I have a diploma from same institution (SCDL). I sent a query to ICAS and they responded that if the institute was recognized by UGC/DEC at the time of admission, they can evaluate the diploma. SCDL is recognized by UGC/DEC. Though I have not sent the transcripts, but kinda positive on sending that to ICAS.

Do let me if you have some positive response from any other agency.

Hello all seniors,

I am applying for ECA. Following are my credential details in Pakistan and my one critical question:

• MS Business Administration, 18 Years, NUML Islamabad University, Listed in designated academic institution list of WES
• MBA (Finance) 16 Years, Govt. College University Faisalabad, Listed in designated academic institution list of WES
• B.com 14 Years, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Listed in designated academic institution list of WES
• D.com (HSC) 12 Years, Punjab Technical Education Board Lahore, Not listed in designated academic institution list of WES
• Matric (SSC) 10 Years, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Faisalabad, listed in designated academic institution list of WES

My HSC Certificate (12 Yers) mentioned in Red is from a nonlisted institution as per list on WES website. After reading about WES attitudes in some cases I think they will issue "Graduation" report by not considering 2 years of mentioned document.

Second suitable option is CES, I got all my Postsecondary document attested and sealed by HEC. Should I go for IBCC verification for SSC and HSC documents as well for CES?

Please suggest.
