For PR application, can we use the same Medical Report which we have used for Study Visa?

In the eMedical report I see a column like this:

Upfront medical type: Student

Is this okay to be used in a PR application? This was done few weeks ago and it's still valid. Anyone reused the same eMedical report for multiple visa application?

It has to be "Worker"

What are the tests listed in the last section?

For the PR medical, it should have 712, 707, 502, 501.

I was able to reuse my PR medical for my TRV application. But from temporary to permanent, it might not always be the case if fewer tests were completed.

Yes I see 712, 707, 502, 501 etc in her Student Medical too.

So when you reused PR Med on TRV Med, what was written in this section? - "Upfront medical type":

It was "Worker" but I had specified it was for Express Entry

You can call the clinic to verify if you can use it for PR. When I had asked at mine, they replied, "Oh the tests are all the same."

Just came across the link above which says it needs to be separate tests. Have a read, last FAQ.

That link is from the owners of this forum; I don't know how accurate or updated that information is.

The safest way is to attempt a new medical anyway, considering how inconsistently IRCC treats the medicals. Better to not give them a reason to reject you for this.

Do they reject PR for this simple reason? OR will they request us to do a Medical test again?

Hi all, I went to the doctor with my wife to do Medicals for upfront PR application.

I told Doctor we are willing to do Medicals for our wife if needed, as Visa type should be 'Worker' instead of "Study".

He said its the same medical tests for any visa type. Your tests are done and results are uploaded into CIC database and he showed me the screen.
There is nothing more needed for her as it will be duplicate data. And he wasn't sure if duplicate data can be uploaded, as there is a valid medical report which is valid for 6 months, is already in CIC database.

So he did only Medical report for me. Now what do I do on e-PR application? Should I upload my wife's medical and write an Explanation letter saying we can do Medical test again if needed? Or is there a number I can call CIC to ask about this?

Guys my wife took appointment again and saw doctor now. Doctor completely refuse to do it, as he says he cannot put duplicate info and there is no provision in his system to put new application for wife, as it says already record exists.

After pleading he asked me to provide cic link which he says he will forward to CIC and ask how to go about in her case. This is the link i sent..

Hello all,
My wife has valid recent Medical Report which was issued for her work permit with Upfront medical type: Worker. Can we use it for the PR application? OR she have to do a new one?

She can use it.
Thanks for your response. I am little confused because of the answer of that question on CIC, what do you think about it?

Do I need a medical exam to apply for permanent residence, if I’ve already had one for my permit?
Yes. Even if you had a medical exam previously, all applicants for permanent residence must have a medical exam.

A medical exam is needed to make sure that:

  • you pose no health risk to the Canadian public and
  • neither you nor a family member will place too much demand on Canada’s health, education and social systems.
