I have never heard about EVEN ONE person successfully getting a job offer through registering themselves on Job bank.

It's just a big lie that somehow an employer in Canada will hire a foreigner and support their immigration application.

Has anyone ever heard about an immigrant registered for Job Bank getting the job offer from overseas?

I am not talking about a job for sale which someone paid an agent for, or a job arranged by friends or family, I mean, has anyone ever heard about the system working like it is supposed to, even once?

I wouldn't immediately dismiss it as a scam. I did however, register on it, inspite of already having a full-time job because my work permit doesn't have an LMIA. It was a formality to activate my Express Entry profile

No it's not a scam. It's real. But the chances of getting an interview from a job bank is close to zero. They just put the job posting there to comply with regulations but they already have someone to hire either from referral or their internal sources.

So maybe scam is the wrong word: its useless, misleading, breeding false hope. Inviting con artists to sell jobs (usually fake jobs) to people like us.

The jobs that are posted usually already have been reserved for someone.

Once again, has anyone EVER heard about someone being 'selected' and 'interviewed' and then an employer says "WOW, I want to support your immigration application based on your job bank profile"??

Jobbank is not a scam. It is tool to bring employers and jobseekers together but that does not mean that an employer will select you. The jobs on job bank are not reserved for anyone either. They are just ads like any of those on any other job sites. Myself and many others have found jobs on job bank albeit pre express entry. My present company has about 4 or 5 positions currently listed since april and my employer has brought over at least two foreign nationals for interviews etc. However we have not found the right person for the job yet and are still searching. You also need to remember that job bank isnot solely for foreign nationals. Canadians also use this site for jobs. Hiring a foreign worker requires a lot of effort on the part of the employer and it's easier to pass or hire someone locally than it is to hire someone you've not met in person and who is unable to begin working in the short term. It's tough but that's life.

Dont register then simple...!!! They are providing that service for free, so no right to complain unless you paid for it...!! They never even promised to get you job through it, its depends entirely on the profile of a candidate plus Canadavisa forum is not an entire community who is applying for PR, hardly 1% applicants are here, so just taking that into account you cant conclude that noone has got job through Jobbank...!!

It's not a scam. It just that employers still prefer their candidates to secure a visa first and be in Canada.

Plus to be competitive in their job market you need to have Canadian work experience first.

I saw how Job Bank looks from the employer's side. And I can tell you that no serious recruitment can be done using such a tool. Employers use it only because they cannot get an LMIA unless they show that they posted an ad on job bank for some period of time (minimum 1 month I think).

Do not waste your time looking on job bank because most (if not all) of the jobs posted there are fake. Employers post there because the government makes them do so. Not because they are actually looking for someone to fill a position.

You will have a much better chance if you spend your time looking on the serious job boards. Try to find the most popular job boards for your domain/industry and focus on them.

What you've written makes no sense. Yes it is mandatory to have your ad on Jobbank in order to get a LMIA. Knowing the hassle and expense involved in a LMIA why then would the jobs be fake? Furthermore simply putting your job on Jobbank will not get an LMIA. You have to advertise through multiple sources in order to prove that an effort was made ton hire a pr or citizen. The ides that people are posting fake jobs because the govt makes them is just ridiculous. Stop the nonsense!

First, you need to be more respectful.

Second, employers posting fake jobs on job bank is a fact that I learned about from two different immigration lawyers. Employers usually post on job bank AFTER they decide on who they want to hire. They post on job bank because, if they don't, they will not be able to get an LMIA which they need to sponsor the person they decided to hire and bring him/her to Canada.

Immigration lawyers are currently giving their feedback to the government trying to convince them to remove the LMIA advertising requirement because it is so easy to fake. And employers do fake it very often. The minimum job advertisement duration was already reduced from 3 months to 1 month.

Firstly I don't believe I was disrespectful. But on to the topic at hand. The reason an employer would post his ad to job bank in order to get a LMIA after they've identified who they want to hire is simple. The aim of any employer would be to obtain a qualified candidate with Canadian experience and who is already in Canada. If they cannot fill the position locally then they will be forced to look outside Canada. Why would you pay funds and go through the hassle if 1. you could fill the job locally or 2. didn't know if a qualified foreign worker would be required or even found?

Additionally, many employers post their ads to jobbank anyways. Its free and many Canadians use it in addition to foreigners and many "serious job sites" pull ads from job bank and post on their sites so I guess they must be fake too.

There and many employers who have good employees (TFWs)working for them and want to keep these workers and so are willing to get LMIAs if necessary. Should they discard there workers and go searching for a stranger? If they want to hire these people but posts the ad on jobbank does that make the job fake? Its not as though a jobbank ad guarantees a lmia either nor is the jobbank ad the deciding factor in successfully applying for a LMIA. There are many aspects and many things to consider and none of it makes the jobs fake or make it unfair or anything else. Lastly many immigration lawyers are fake as you say. They want money and will do whatever benefits their own bottom line.

Hey Stemele, congratulations!!... Can you elaborate how exactly were you were able to manage a job through job bank? How many tries did it take for you to land a legitimate job offer? What were employers' expectation when they interviewed? Were they okay to wait till CIC processes your PR?

Uff... questions are many!! :)

Unfortunately, it didn't go beyond the interview phase.
