Everybody has to struggle if that's what you asking!!! You have to go through NCA. write your papers and finally articulate, and then depending upon their experience and how good are they in adapting people get hired all the time. So if you want to know more about NCA join the facebook group NCA.GurpreetSunny said:Hello all. I am alawyer from Delhi, India and in the pool for immigration (FSW)
I have read and being told outside lawyers have to struggle a lot before leading a comfortable life. Is it true that lawyers have to struggle more than normal in Canada. Anybody having any experience in canada plz comment and help. Regards
I personally feel that lawyers have to struggle a bit more than others as they have to follow a process before getting a job in their field. I think that the lawyers in this group shall write about NCA and their respective experiences. Though we get prefernce in the express entry points system but the pnp's and other factors are not much favourable. We all shall help each other. I am in process of sending docs to NCA for assessment. ThanksronnieS said:Everybody has to struggle if that's what you asking!!! I was given 7 exams and I have written 5. Trust me its really hard for everyone to find job in Canada especially people with no Canadian education and experience. I work as a Legal/Contracts Manager but I had to go to university and take LLM and still had to wait for some time to get a job. Yes exams are stressful and we have to change a lot in our lifestyles to be studying again but trust me fruits are sweet. Lawyers make hell lot of money, more then you could make in India. Moreover all the regulated professions have to go through this process but at the end of the day when you have your license on you that makes all the difference. SO take it easy buddy and take one thing at a time. You will get through it.GurpreetSunny said:I personally feel that lawyers have to struggle a bit more than others as they have to follow a process before getting a job in their field. That is inspiring. How much time have u taken to clear 5 exams and are they really difficult. I mean i am in ten years into the profession and yes it would be difficult for me to start studing again but i wish to do so for better future. I will not go for LLM. Will concentrate on NCA and bar paper. Are you toronto based? Was your application inland or outland. Plz share ur experience of giving nca exams. 6 months for 5 exams and I am just taking my time off now. You will find a lot of people in the Facebook group and when you read their stories of success you will be truly inspired. Legal profession is totally different from unlike India. You will realize it once you start studying.GurpreetSunny said:That is inspiring. PS: Until you don't get your license you will not be hired as a Lawyer/Legal Adviser. So that will be the only hard part for you, Moreover you will be exempted from articling due to your Indian experience.
I am an Inland FSW. You can get all the notes you want from the NCA group. Liran's notes are helpful, no need to buy the books. Its not at all hard you just have to know your basics. It all depends on you, if you want to have self practice or you are interested in being employed by the biggest law firms in the world. Yes, I am in Toronto and Toronto and Vancouver have the biggest Law firms. I was always into Corporate and Contracts Law
so I preferred law firms over self practice.
