Hello Friends,

I'm married on 24th April, and I have applied for visitor visa for my wife as of 5th May 2016 at VFS office Hyderabad and since then there is no update on application, when we check online it say's "Visa application, tracking ID No.20160506XXXXXXXX is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, BANGALORE.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website". I'm not sure what that means, no emails or nothing.

we have submitted following documents
1. Original Passport
2. Marriage Certificate
3. Marriage Photographs
4. Copies of my last 4 months Bank statements
5. A copy of my Fixed deposit INR 3,00,000.00 (Approximately CAD $6000.00)
6. Invitation letter
7. A copy of my offer letter /letter from employer
8. A copy of my husband Passport.
9. A copy of my husband Visa stamp
10. A copy of my husband Work permit
11. A letter from his employer
12. Copies of his last 4 months Bank statements (around $12000.00)
13. A copy of my husband Residential Agreement
14. A copy of Social Insurance Number

Based on your post, you have not proved any strong ties nor strong reasons to return to India.... all documentation (except for an offer of employment + your bank statement + the FD) are of your husband's.

Ideally, you should have submitted evidence of your employment/ property ownership or lease agreement/ financial situation/ family ties/ previous travel history, etc.

BTW it should be 6 months' bank statements and not 4 months. Anyways

What's done, is done.... there's nothing you can do at the moment. You'll have to wait for a decision

All the best :)

Thanks for reply,

Sorry for the confusion, I did submit my Travel history (I had travelled to South Africa on business visa), my employment history, my pay slips , FD is my name (not on husband name) and family ties such as entire family is back in home which I need to support and based on your post, I think, we have shown strong ties in our application.

And regarding, 4 vs 6-month bank statements, when we check our eligibility to see documents we need to submit, we have been asked to submit 4th-month statements.

Is it still something wrong ??

No, it is 6 months' bank statements for India applications.... and not 4 months.

Thanks again,

However, this is a contradicting statement, Here is what we have received when we check for our eligibility to travel and documents to be submitted.

Temporary Residents

If you are visiting Canada, you must prove that you can support yourself and the family members who will be with you while you are in Canada. Provide as many of these documents as you can:

your bank statements for the past four months
a bank draft in convertible currency
pay stubs
an employment letter
proof of assets or business
proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
tax reports, declarations or statements
proof of a student/education loan from a financial institution
a letter from the person or institution providing you with money
proof of funding paid from within Canada, if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program
proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada
Express Entry - Permanent Residents

There's no contradiction. It is 6 months' bank statements for India TRV applicants (general visitors)

How did you arrive at this checklist?

proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada
Express Entry - Permanent Residents
This is certainly not part of the India TRV application checklist..... do check the link below, particularly Visa Office Instructions IMM 5881

if you go to check determine eligibility page on CIC website and answer few questions for visitor visa then you will get documents list to be submitted.

Yes, I did check the link, then I was confused, as this document says 6 months and website says 4 months which is true ..not sure.

Bryanna, it can be confusing. For Saudi visitors, VAC was asking for 6 months of statements, whereas the online application created from the questionnaire asks for 4. We sent 4 months of history for my wife.

Very true.

The 'Come to Canada' Wizard generates a generic list of documents.... which are not country-specific.

From the CIC website:
No immigration decision will be made based on the answers that you provide within the Come to Canada Wizard. If you choose to apply, your application will be considered by an officer in accordance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, without regard to any outcome you attain through this questionnaire.

The Wizard together with the application guides were designed to provide general guidance to applicants; however, in some cases, additional information or steps may be required.

On the contrary, the 'Visa Office Instructions' which are generated if one uses http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp .... are country-specific document checklists

That's the wizard I used to start the process for my wife. The document requirements list that was generated was the one used for her application (and her parents' and siblings TRV too). The online process was pretty simple - except how Saudis can use IMM 5707 instead of 5645. This confused the hell out of us because 5707 doesn't have a section for siblings' information, even though the tool-tip and form instructions asked for it. In the end they did not enter the siblings' information at all and got the TRV regardless.
