Hello,

I have Canadian post graduate work permit which will expire on November 2018. I left Canada on Feb 19 2016 assuming my work permit is also my permit to re enter in Canada. Indian immigration authority did not allow me to proceed further.

I have USA B1/B2 visa. I have been to USA and came back around Jan 1st using Indian passport and Canadian post graduate work permit.
Can I go to Canada through USA as USA is exempt from multiple entry visa requirement?

Can I apply for multiple entry visa from USA in case Canada does not allow me to re enter?

What are chances of rejection if I apply for multiple entry visa for Canada?

blunder mistake...

I think you need to apply for a new visa...

you cannot enter Canada from the US without a valid visa and as you mentioned your visa is a single entry and only for 1 time use you are no longer a holder of valid canadian visa and as a matter of this fact you need to apply for a new visa.

I suggest you to apply for a visa and mention about this fact like "you weren't aware of single entry etc" I think you will get a visa..

In India what we do,

they need to apply for re-entry visa (returning worker),
you need to fill form : IMM-5257E ( on question purpose of Visa you need to fill Returning Worker)
and
document that are required :
1- Signed letter from employer in Canada confirming ongoing employment (includes - employer's name address, telephone #, fax #, your position your salary, date of hire)
2 - evidence (Salary slip and bank statement)

Isn't it possible now to go to Canada from USA using Indian passport and valid post graduate work permit as I did before? Only if you had gone to visit the US only and no other country. Since you visited a third country - you need a valid visitor visa to re-enter Canada (even if you re-enter from the US).

if that's the case, may be you can try and don't tell them you visited another country and I think it might work. I wonder how would they know you left US to visit another country. Since you will be in the US at that time they might think you were in the US all the time.. Good luck

1. You realize of course that CBSA looks at passports when a person enters Canada? So if he is refused entry, he will be denied entry to Canada, returned to the US, who may decide to remove him to India, depending on his status in the US>

I applied for TRV from USA. I got passport request from CIC within 24 hours. I hope everything goes well.

I got TRV from USA.

March 7 Applied for TRV
March 8 got passport request.
March 8 evening passport sent to new york CVAC.
March 10 Passport delivered CVAC
March 14 passport sent from NYC CVAC to Visa office
March 15 passport back to CVAC
March 15 passport dispatched to home address
March 18 got the passport
