!!!!!!IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION!!!!!!

I had raised a CSE last month to Delhi Visa Office (India) asking them if EPF can be used as proof of funds. To my surprise, this morning, received a mail from them telling that , YES, EPF can be used as Proof of Funds.

I have added the screenshot in my google drive. You can view it by clicking on the link below.

Somebody might find this information useful. So, I'm posting it here.

Please note that I got this information from the Canadian High Commission in India. This response might hold good only for Indian applicants.

Hi Guys , i am planning to apply for Nova scotia PNP under demand stream. Can Provident fund documents be used as POF ?
Yes it can be used as POF with your application to CIC. Lots of people use it as POF without any problem. It can be possible that this type of POF is new and unusual to province, in that case you need to clarify to them. That's all. Best of luck ... :)

Well, I guess rajkamalmohanram's email settles the ambiguity on use of Provident funds for PoF once and for all. Thanks for sharing! Any chance wife's PF can also be shown? She's part of my application.

This is still in the dark. You can get a letter from her employer and the EFP statement showing the amount of funds. You can also get an affidavit from your wife which authorizes you to use those funds in any manner you want and you have no obligation to repay it to her.

I think this should work but I am not sure. May be others who have done this can help?

Whatever document is not in English or French needs to be translated and notarized. You should submit both the original and the translated version.

thanks for responding! +1 for you.

by the way, does "notarized" means you have to go to the lawyer and have it signed with seal? or it's enough that I get a seal from Translator institute of Malaysia? my translator said that going to lawyer for notary is not part of theie service.

There are people who are authorized by the government to perform notary. You can go to them and get the documents notarized.

Now, the general understanding is when a document is translated, it should also be notarized - this has been the general practice here on the forum. I did not have to translate any documents. So, anyone who might have translated can give you a better insight!

hi Rajkamal,

I m new here. I submitted my SINP OID application on 3rd January 2016. My EPF statement has two columns one is Employee share (the amount deducted from salary)and other is Employer share (the amount added by the organization).

They consider both amount?

Word of caution. EPF is not accepted by SINP and It might be a risk to think that CIC will accept. Personally, I lost 2 months thinking that EPF will be accepted and now taking steps to get funds from other source

following my comment, I just decided to have my translated EPF documents be notarized by Notary Public. i can't afford submitting a doubtful support. to my surprise, it went out fine. by that I mean, the Notary accepted the translated document and the original and certify it.

goodluck guys! ;D
