As discussed previously the amount recorded as 'Gross Salary' in your T4 is the amount that was paid to you from the date you joined until the end of the Income tax Year (ie Dec 31). If you worked from 1 January - 31 December then the amount of $23,840 is correct.

Otherwise if you started working after 1 January then you need to 'Annualize' the amount. Hence why I gave you the 'Annualized' figures.
I see. I did work from Oct 2013 to Feb 2015, so I think I need to put 23840 as annual salary, correct?

What amount is reported on your 2013 T4 (Oct - Dec 2013)? - Needs to be Annualized

What amount is reported on your 2014 T4 (Jan - Dec 2014)? - May need a pro-rated 'Gross Adjustment' depending on the difference between '2013 Annualized amount' and '2014 actual amount'

my 2013 is 7125, and 2014 is 23840, I haven't got my 2015 T4 yet. I worked from Oct 2013-Dec 2013, Jan 2014-Dec 2014 and Jan 2015-Feb 2015.

Based on what you have said:

2013 Annualized amount: $28,500

2014 amount is $23,840

Based on these 2 figures alone (without knowing 2015) you are safe to put a pro-rated amount of $26,170. This could change if 2015 T4 has a different amount reported.

Even though I don't have the T4 for 2015, I think the amount for 2015 would be 4480 because I only worked for 2 months, so I just added them up according to my payslips.

2 scenarios,

Scenario 1

If $4,480 represents 'Gross Wages' paid then the 'pro-rated' annual amount would be $26,420

Scenario 2

If $4,480 represents 'Net Wages' paid then the 'pro-rated' annual amount would be $30,185

Assumption, in Scenario 2 is that the Net Wages are net of an adjusted taxable wage for the pay period where 'Income Tax' is deducted at a rate of 30% (Federal + Provincial Tax Deductions- CPP - EI)

Thanks! 4480 is the gross wage. I'll let the previous employer write "The pro-rated annual salary was $26,420" Is that okay? Even though it's my previous job, I can still use "pro-rated annual salary"? Sorry, I don't know much about accounting... ;D

Hello Everyone,

I have held 4 jobs till now and all 4 employers did not mention my Annual Salary on my Reference letter despite of me telling them, so i have attached my Employment offer & Paystubs for all the jobs, the Employment letter does mention my Salary, will that suffice for OINP & eAPR phase ?
