Hi guys!

I have a question regarding PCC.
I am living in current state for 17 years and have three different addresses and got the PCC from the current state for all of them. but when I was 18 I was in another state and facing difficulties to get PCC for that state.
1. My question is that should I upload the PCC of my current state only and skip the past state as CIC give option to give them 10 years history.
2. Should I have to get PCC for exactly 10 years and not more than 10 ...if I am not giving the history since 18th birthday.

I think the option "since 18 years old or the past 10 years" is based on your age. If you are 26 you will provide info since 18 but if you 38 you will provide info for the past 10 years.
Please someone correct me if I am wrong ...

I don't know where you are from but in my country PPCs are issued covering all period of stay in this country up to today. Does it include information when you left the country?
Mine doesn't, only info to whom it is issued and that until this date my police record is clear. I think this varies from country to country..

You are correct regarding the "since 18 years old or the past 10 years" .... as for the PCC, in my PCCs from two different countries it just states that till date (says the date it was requested) and then lists if there is any criminal or judicial record or says that the person is clear.

Police Certificates are generally police records. I do not think it is possible to manage the timeline for the police certificate.

I am confused as to how you people are calculating the age from when you will get the Police Certificate.

Also, to the OP: What do you mean by PCC from the state? Just one latest/valid PCC from each COUNTRY should suffice.

Point is you'll need PCCs (one for each country not state) since your 18 years of age. Period.

Ranee, I dont think you got me correctly.

I meant there is no time limit for your PCC. If you commited a crime when you were 18 it will pop up.
Like perfectSkilledMigrant said - it shows the date you requested it and sayd that up to this date your record is clean.

You cannot control what the authorities take into consideration for the PCC, which exact age do they start your record from(though I think most take it about 18 years old), but I believe all give the PCC till the day you asked for it so anything in your past will show even if you were outside the country they are not going to cut it into periods.

The point regarding age is related to the history CIC asks you for where they say "since the age of 18 or last 10 years" for me personally I applied while I have not crossed the age of 28, so I just took my history till the age of 18 although it is less than 10 years... I did so for OOPNP and got the PN and then for PR and waiting atm ...

OP is probably from India. There was a thread with the word 'PSK' in it about this very issue. Search for that.

PCC is meant to cover one country - irrespective of the no. of states and time spent in those states.
PCC should not be geography and time bound.
PCC should be obtained for only those countries where an applicant has stayed for atleast 6 months after the age of 18.
I hope this helps.

I have the same question may it will help Ranee too.

Currently my age is 40 years (I am not a principle applicant). My year of birth is May 1975 and my 18 years history starts from May 1993. On the other hand my 10 years history starts from May 2005 to May 2015.

From May 1993 (since the age of 18) to August 2002 I lived in Okara (city), Punjab (State), Pakistan (Country). Total stay on a single address 9 years.

From September 2002 to June 2009 lived on address X district in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Total stay on a/this address 6 years 9 months.
From July 2009 to till date I am living on address Y district, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Total stay on a/this address 6 years 6 months.

Please note in Pakistan we have to obtain Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from District police authority. In my case I have to obtain PCC from (a) Okara, (b) from District police authority District X, (c) from District police authority District Y. total three PCC. No procedure to obtain a single country specific PCC in Pakistan (as per my knowledge).

I am facing difficulties (ambiguous procedure, travelling headache etc) to obtain PCC from Okara (I am going to skip it). But I have obtained two PCC from District X and District Y. Please note my stay period with dates are mentioned on my both PCC.

I have filled my last 13 years and 4 months personal history in post ITA forms (from Sept 2002 to till date) and my PCCs are also from Sept 2002 to till date means both PCCs are for 13 years and 4 months in total.

My question, Is it ok to provide 13 years history with 13 years' PCC instead of exactly 10 years' personal history with 10 years' PCC?
Can you check with the Passport issuing authority of your country - if they provide a single PCC for the whole country? If you are living outside of Pakistan now, then the Pakistan embassy can issue this PCC.

Irrespective of your country and the internal PCC rules, that you obviously need to sort out, but CIC needs PCC (one for each country) since your 18 years of age, till you apply. Don't be confused by 10 years, as there is nothing in common between 10yrs and PCC.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

This is what CIC says about PCC

Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. (For example, if you lived in a country for eight months but left on a two-week vacation, that counts as living there for eight months.)

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator.

Not sure where you got the information about 10 years...

Providing 13yrs of PCC won't be enough to cover you from your 18th birthday (May 1933).

You will need PCC from May 1933 onwards. Hope i could make myself clear this time.

As mention in post ITA form "Personal Activity", Provide the details of Rao's personal history in the last 10 years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). As I understand, I have an option to provide 10 years history of since the age of 18 years in my case.

so my my question is it ok to provide 13 years history with 13 years' PCC instead of exactly 10 years' personal history with 10 years' PCC?

Personal history has no relation to PCC.

Personal history is required for last 10yrs or from 18yrs of age whichever is later. But PCC is required from 18 yrs of age till the date of application.

Do not confuse between personal history and PCC and their age requirements.
