You don't need a job offer, but I'm sure you're aware of the equivalency and qualification exams, let alone finding a residency is not easy. No matter what specialty or years of experience you have, you're almost going to have to start over, unless of course you do a career shift. Now that's a different story.

No, a job offer is not required, but it does help.

As for whether or not it's "successful" - that depends on whether actually working as a physician in Canada is part of your defniition of success. You have a good chance of immigrating, but there are plenty of physicians here who have immigrated but are not licensed to practice. That DEPENDS on so many things, and you've given very little information. Try reading these first -

http://www.cfpc.ca/recognizedtraining/

http://mcc.ca/about/mcc-and-route-to-licensure/licensure-process-for-imgs/

then it depends on the province you want to settle in...

http://www.cpso.on.ca/registering-to-practise-medicine-in-ontario/international-medical-graduates/qualifying-to-practice-medicine-in-ontario

... and whether you're willing to work in rural/remote areas....

... and competition for the limited supply of residency positions available to IMGs...

and whether or not you're willing to bridge to a non-clinical position...

First of all it's regulated, there are 3 exams to sit and pass, must secure a residency.

To do all this, you need to be a PR holder or Citizen of Canada.

Highly competitive, degrees from 3rd world countries not recognized.

After EE, no chance at all.

Hi dear ultra..thanx..
I understand that i will have to go thru competency exam before practicing as a physician. In canada, but do i need to pass the examfor getting immigration..i know that job or carrier switch can be alternative..lets reformate it as,having not passed the competency exam poses anything negative for getting immigration?

Why would a doctor under EE have less chance than other applicants?

I am Dr. Asad from Pakistan but lives in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. I have applied in Express Entry in February not in doctor category rather I applied in Manager Healthcare service category as I have experience of medical administration in hospitals. I have applied through Agent but still I am waiting for the response.
Can anyone share his or her experience of getting immigration as medical administrator and what are the jobs opportunities there?

Now in EE , its all depends on your points, if you are having good scores say 460+, you can select automatically in draws without having job offer.
What are your scores guys? I have 304 only because of age 40+, I appeared in MCCEE in MAY session but didnt through it by lacking a few marks :( :( :(. With this score of EE I must need a job offer or PNP. I will re appear it again with more effort in future lets see what happened.
