I am Vinay and I have enrolled in WIN certificate program in Fleming college in Peterborough for 2013 sep intake !!

If anyone has been to that college previously, Please share their views about the college, city and PART TIME WORK opportunities ON CAMPUS and OFF CAMPUS both..!!

This is what my friend told me

Managing for fees by working part time is a difficult task. And here in peterborough, very few jobs available. only a very few people from our class are working. this course is so hectic that you won't get time to work as well.

jack i know it is difficult to manage fees.................. well what about monthly expenses ???
can i manage that by part time work?? you are telling that schedule is hectic but someone on this forum told me that there is only 3 to 4 hr lectures daily..... can you plzzzzz clarify that from your friend??

is this course is of 2 years ??? can i get 3 year PGWP after completion of program???? and is there are holidays inbetween because 1 semester is of only 4 months i guess?? then how 4 semester complete in two years??

You will get a 2 year PGWP after 2 year program.

actually they give 3 year PGWP after 2 or more year study...... anyway thats not the issue i am asking from senior's is this program is of 2 years?? can i get 2 years study permit for this program???

College website says 6 overall for this program.
So is there any risk from Visa side under SPP.
M i meeting there requirements as well?

i have done btech(ECE),2012 passout with 63% and having approx 11 months experience in MNC networking company.

Please guide me

i think we are on the same boat.
i am also looking for WIN program in flehming college my profile is as follows

Matriculation in 2003 with 60.2%
Higher Secondary in 2006 with 55.2%
B.tech (ECE) in 2010 with 60.86%
2.5 yrs of work experience in Telecom line (July'2010 up to Dec'2012)
IELTS score Overall 6.5 (L-7.5, R-6.5, S-5.5, W-5.5)

Yes its true they accept 6.0 bands, i had confirmed from that college on mail. If you want the mail i can fwd you.
The only problem getting there is , NO PART JOBS AVAILABLE in that area, So managing 2nd year college fee will be tuff .


Well, Where are you from and when are you going to apply for that ??

Hi Karan,

WIN course duration is 4 semesters of 15 weeks which is almost 1 yr at flehming.

generally in my point of view spp accepts overal 6 bands and for WIN program requirement is overall 6.0 bands. So it wil be fine.

some of my friends got visa with 6.0 bands to the same course.

but I will suggest you to take ielts again and try to secure admission in Toronto area colleges. U will get part time jpbs there very easily, plus its a very nice city. I also had given ielts twice, and am going to give. again on this 16 may for the same reason otherwise last choice is flehming only

For ppl who have idea about Fleming college..& Mr Tiger Admin

I got offer for 1 year Wireless networking at Humber and 2 year Wireless Info Netw. at Fleming college. With consideration of location, length of program and academic reputation, which of the 2 options you suggests me to go for. I have heard consultants referring for doing 1 year networking program and than joining some other course like Project Management in progression to be eligible for 3 years work permit. I am not sure going with this as it may dilute the profile with 2 one year courses as Project management has nothing to do with Networking.

So I wanted to know..which is better from career perspective:
2 year WIN
1 year WIN and 1 year Project Management

Kindly help. Appreciate your response.
