Hey there, wondering if anyone knows if I can take my 'vacation payout' after my work permit expires?

I am taking an 'unpaid leave of absence' from my workplace while I wait for a PR invitation, but it would be great if I can at least be paid for two weeks using my vacation pay before I take my unpaid leave. My workplace is fine with this, but I just don't want to unknowingly hurt my PR application.

Any help/guidance/advice is appreciated! Thank you!

Shouldn't be an issue. If you are 'leaving' work, it has to be paid out in lump sum anyway (by law). If only two weeks to be paid out after you stop working, and work doesn't process it as lump sum payout, that's normal payroll cycle anyway at most places. (i.e. amount wouldn't be paid out any more quickly anyway).

If you're really paranoid you could ask work to process it as separation and payout; shouldn't be an issue for them except for extra HR paperwork.

This isn't legal advice. If it were, they might tell you to put in writing this isn't a vacation or something. I doubt that's necessary.
