We submitted the application on the 25th of January. Its an inland spousal sponsorship application in Quebec. I received the CSQ, completed biometrics, medical and eligibility. I received an approval in principle letter. Only thing still pending now is the background check and has been in progress for more than 6 months.
The last update i got was over 6 months ago.2 days after the 6 month mark, i had a ghost update. Im still well within the standard processing time, but the last communication i received was an approval in principle letter on the 1st of august 2024.

There are long period of time with no communication. Would look at others going through same process in the Quebec immigration section.

Hi, I’m in the same boat. Have you received any updates? I’m still waiting and really don’t know what to do…
You guys just have to wait and monitor the upcoming emails/pr trackers. It took 6 months for my background check to be completed as well and after a long long wait. I got my PR.

I got my last update on January 2024 and that’s it, I’ve been waiting since then . it’s been 20 months since I applied , when I applied the processing time was 15 months and just recently they changed the processing time to 34 months, I’m so confused

The numbers you are seeing are looking backward which is why it changes when it gets longer.

Unfortunately, the issue is Quebec: the govt is apparently capping the number of spousal approvals, not true for any other country. This is why the timelines have gotten longer. No solution known.

You can complain to your MNA, and to the quebec govt.
