Can i cancel Study visa extension application before study permit expire and apply for PGWP

Hi Guys,

I hope someone would be able to guide me in the right direction.

I submitted my study visa extension application on April 02, 2020 but now, I heard back from college that they would be able to provide Expedited Grad Letter and transcripts before my study visa expires which is May 01, 2020. So, is it possible to cancel study visa extension application and apply for PGWP before my study visa expires?

Any leads would be appreciated.

Yes, you can withdraw the study permit app and apply for your PGWP. Given the backlog in Webforms right now, you probably won't get confirmation of the withdrawal before your current permit expires, so apply for your PGWP as soon as you have the docs.

Say, apply for a PGWP on implied status whilst waiting for an extension that is taking forever then withdrawing/cancelling the PGWP and applying for a fresh one when the study permit extension is approved?

Why would you apply for a PGWP, withdraw and reapply? That makes no sense. As I said, withdraw the study permit extension and apply for the PGWP.

Lol Nope, I am not the OP.

And my situation is the reverse of that in that my study permit has expired, I am currently on implied status and I have finished studying. The extension was also supposed to cover until March 31st.

In order to work whilst waiting for the PGWP approval. I understand that If you applied under implied status you'd have to not work for the best part of 3 months.

I applied for the study permit extension. In that, I uploaded the passport document along with the visa page but without the stamp page. what would happen? will i receive an email to update the passport document or my extension request will be refused?
