Sadly nobody will get their PR Cards or Passports until the strike ends, last I checked two weeks ago and Service Canada said they have 85000 passports being held at their Processing Facility so you can imagine how many PR Cards are stuck as well and also Service Canada said that they have stopped processing new passports because their facility is already full of them and they will start making new ones once the strike ends but I guess if it's urgent then one can ask them to bring it to the Service Canada location and pick it from there but the problem with PR Cards is that they are issued by the Sydney office in NS and I don't know if they allow anyone to come and pick from facility.

so whats even the option for people like me. My work permit is expired, applied for bridge and im getting married in Jan last week for which i have to travel to my home country, im hoping to get the ecopr before that but im pretty sure i wont receive my PR card due to the strike. i cant go anywhere and pick my PR card. So the only option i would have is leave the country and apply for a PRTD at my home country. their processing times still show 5 months and pr card 25 days. I submitted my application early july. i thought SBI was the slowest organisation on the planet, Looks like they are close second to IRCC

After getting your Ecopr, you can enter Canada through the US, if you have a US visa. I am waiting for ECOPR and that's my plan.

Hi everyone,

I reached P2 of my PR processing on October 31st. I'm hoping to receive my PR card by the last week of December, assuming the Canada Post strike ends and Portal 2 approval goes smoothly.

I've already booked a flight to my home country on January 4th, returning on January 30th, for an important family function.

Here's my concern: What if I don't receive my physical PR card by then, but my COPR is issued? Can I still enter Canada with just my work permit, which only expire by June 2025?

Also, is it possible to ask a friend in Canada to use express mail to send me my PR card?

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at current timelines you'll be lucky to even get eCoPR by January.

To answer your questions: 1) your work permit and all other visas becomes invalid the moment you get eCoPR so you will not be allowed to board the plane 2) sure, someone can send you the PR card (provided its issued by January 30, which may not be the case) 3) you can enter through US land border by private vehicle with eCoPR only

I do have a US Visa but again i can travel the US border only on a private vehicle with a ecopr and not on a Bus right ? which is a problem again.
