Status while changing college and program

My cousin is applying for NS PNP and I am helping them with the questions they have. While filling out what they were doing the last 5 years, I'm not sure what is the appropriate "status/activity" for the time period where they changed their college and program but had a ~3 month gap.
So they were enrolled from Jan-May, then the new program started in September. So for the time period Jun-Aug, are they still considered a student or unemployed if they didn't work.

Whilst applying for my PR status as my ID I had to submit my passport which is in my maiden name. Along with documents I submitted my Marriage certificates..the government one and the church one. However my PR card was issued in my maiden name which is Anna Maria Knight and not in my married name..Anna Maria Allen. I would not like to change my name from Anna Maria Knight to Anna Maria Allen...would appreciate if you could please tell me what I should do, what form & documents I need to attach and where I should send it. Awaiting your reply. Thank you.
