IRCC now lists SDS as a closed program for study permits as of 2 p.m ET on November 8.

Have to wait and see. SDS was a dead stream for a while. Said priority processing but that was not the case. Still be processed.

If you submitted your application on or before Nov 8 then you are fine and your application will continue to be processed.

I haven't applied. I just received GIC Receipt like 4 p.m ET, was planning to apply on Monday but here we are Canada being Canada. Closing the whole program without prior intimation or some time buffer.

My intake is January and had planned everything accordingly. Considering the processing time for my country is 13 weeks for non-sds, I am very demotivated with my application.

You waited too late anyways. Processing for SDS in 3 weeks had not been followed since pre-covid. IRCC should have taken down that processing time long time ago a. Plus you never factored in passport stamping.

GIC is a good financial guarantee regardless
