1. Are you currently in Canada? Or are you outside Canada?
In India

2. If outside Canada, who wrote the invitation letter - it seems that the invitation letter is mandatory. In my case, my friend is trying to apply for his daughter's (1 year old) TRV. He is still in India and is planning to travel soon. So can he still write an invitation letter for his daughter?
Invitation letter was from my sister in law residing in Canada
3. Did you create a separate account on CIC for the child on whose TRV you are applying or did you create the application from your account?
I created a separate account
4. Also, what all did you provide as the proof of means of financial support and proof of financial support?
Bank statements

Hi My PR application is in progress, my spouse is non accompanying in the PR but has her TRV, my child born in India would be applying for TRV , as I would be adding my child also to the PR application do you think i should mark her accompanying (as she would come to Canada on TRV while PR is in progress ) or non accompanying ( her mother is non accopanying and there is risk of rejection as PR is in progress)

Hi Draviki

I am in a a similar position with TRV rejected last week. I will be doing a TRP soon. Could you let me know the outcome since this post? Were you able to get the TRP for your child? We are hoping for this to work out

Thanks

Person has not been on forum since 2018. Read past posts…TRV approved for child. Never had to apply for TRP.

One of you should be planning to come to Canada now and start sponsorship process. Or are you a student?

Oh..I read that their TRV got rejected 3 times for her hence I thought they applied for TRP

We both have PR with older son but read that sponsorship process will take atleast 8 months and sponsor needs to be in country that whole period. It's tough as we have a newborn and child so managing with single parent is not easy.

How long have you lived in Canada? When did you land? That will factor in for TRP to show some ties to Canada. If TRP is refused, one must move to Canada. Start planning for that eventuality.

We are applying from offshore. We only did a soft landing in 2022 when we got the COPR. We have our PR cards in hand. Will be moving permanently to Canada in Sept this year to start school for our older son. Then will apply for PR for the baby from inland.

So if TRP is refused, one of you must move to Canada. There are no timelines for TRPs so expect you will not get it before September.

Show that you have ties like rental/bought home, job offers etc.
For now we are going to apply for a TRP. Hoping for a positive result. We are doing it without any agent so any advice on how to fill this form will be much appreciated. I understand it's a TRV application but with a supporting letter explaining the scenario.

So show you have ties to Canada like job offers for you and your spouse, rental/lease agreements, home purchase, credit cards, bank accounts, car, investments etc.

Unfortunately we have none of these except bank accounts and credit cards which we opened when we did soft landing. Was planning to get job offers, home purchase etc once we move to Canada this year as getting these from offshore is very difficult.

So all you can do is apply and see what happens. If you didn’t actually live in Canada and never attempted to settle, it will make TRP approval more difficult.
