Hey guys!
I have a question,
1. I filed for asylum in January 2023, along with my boc and all my evidence.
2. I had my eligibility interview in May but my lawyer had it postponed to July because she was giving birth.
3. I did my interview, medical and received the brown paper and work permit all during the month of July 2023
4. I imagine that is around the same time that my case got referred to irp too.
Now I’m getting a lot of pressure because I notice that a lot of people who have filed for asylum around the same time as me or even a few months after me have received their hearing dates.
I recently tried to contact my lawyer to ask if there was any update and she didn’t respond for some reason.
I know it can take as long as 2+years to get a hearing but if literally everyone around you is getting a hearing after exactly one year it gets to your head.
Is anybody else in the same boat, who applied in January or February 2023?
(I applied inland, Montreal)

Applied in Oct 2022, have not been scheduled for a hearing , it just depends on the team your case was assigned too, some go really quick, some don’t,
Just got to be patient, only option.
