Procedure to Change Destination Province from Quebec to Another Province

Hello!

Now that the waiting time for outland spousal sponsorship for Quebec is 41 months, I would like to know the procedure to change the destination province from Quebec to Ontario.

We have already had our eligibility, biometrics, medical, and sponsor approval completed. We are waiting for the background check to complete. We also have our CSQ.

Could anybody please point me to any official page detailing how to change the province of destination? Also, is there something that we should consider in doing so? We have applied one year ago.

There's no official page. You move, get supporting docs, update with new address and supporting, and may have to make requests afterwards to make sure it's been removed from the 'waiting for Quebec' queue (or however it works).

As there are more and more requests on this, you should expect they may actually check.

You would want to move and become a tax resident in the province you moved to before trying to change your location for processing. Then processing may start over

Is the sponsor a citizen? Because if not, sponsor should be in Canada during processing or application may be cancelled.

Assuming the sponsor is a Canadian citizen (PR needs to live in Canada to sponsor), provide updated proof that the plan has changed and they are planning to move to a different province.
If family support was provide in the initial application, new proof for not needing the support from family in Quebec would make sense.

The sponsor is a citizen living abroad, but proof was provided that there were enough ties to Quebec, showing the desire to return after the PR is approved.

Proofs included owning a property, multiple bank accounts, driver’s license, and family living in that city.

The sponsor wouldn’t have any proof of connections to Ontario though, just an intent to live there. Would that be sufficient?

The fact that you own property in Quebec may be an issue. You will need to overcome the proof you already provided showing your ties to Quebec and proof that you will be settling in another region of Canada. How long have you lived abroad? Have you ever lived in another region of Canada especially as an adult. Can you find a job in another region of Canada. Would you consider moving to Canada without your spouse and getting a job and a home? That would help prove that you plan on resettling elsewhere.

I should have noted, I think you have to notify them officially that your intended province of destination has changed to be the other province. I think this can just be done by webfrom, but not certain. It's possible you'd be expected to revise the application part that states province of destination

Owning a property shouldn't matter especially it's a non-residential one such as agricultural or retail one. Btw, why Ontario? Can't you choose New Brunswick?

Given the above, I'd think looking for a job in whatever other province would be the best you could do to show serious intent.

I think he still wants to live near Quebec. Some town in Ontario are very close to Quebec.

Also double checked OP's posts and the property is not being stated as residential or not.

I applied for spousal sponsorship in Quebec and got the csq now I’m moving to Alberta. Will this help shorten the timeline in getting my spouse here?(once I update the province of intent) Also does it carry on with consideration of the months that have already elapsed or does it restart the application timeline? Any info would be a great help!

Processing time will not start from scratch. You basically start processing from where you application stopped in Quebec. There will also likely be a delay during the period from when you send in your information proving you are no longer living in Quebec (include new housing information and employment information from Alberta) and when it gets read and updated by IRCC that could take around a month.
