Applied April 14 Visitor Visa (Temporary resident visa) - Eligibility & Back ground check: In Progress

This is Raj , I've applied for Visitor visa along with Invitation from friend in Canada. Submitted on April 14 along with Biometrics (previously done - valid).
status : still in process but the processing time on the website says only 32 days (India).
My Profile:
Previously I stayed on temporary resident status in Canada for almost 8 years (study & work permit : 4 .5 years , visitor record + second time Study & co-op Work permit then again visitor record : 3.2 years). I returned to India while on visitor record valid. (I applied PGWP extension based on Public policy due to Covid but got refused reason Ineligible)
Now after 1 year I applied Visitor visa to visit my best friend in Canada, I have filed everything properly like Proof of funds -12k CAD, enough Assets and Property shown along with Bank statement and CA Documents & Family ties in India , also all the invitee documents - Invitation letter - flight itinerary, Invitee PR & Citizenship card copies bank statements and trip plan etc. are added to file. Currently I'm not working & its coming to 3 months since I submitted application but I still didn't get any response on my application while my proposed dates for travel are in the month of May, gone already. Now I'm unable to understand what will happen will it be approved or refused. Do I need to submit any web form changing my travel dates. Please suggest .. Thank you

You do not need to update any travel plans
Just wait for decision

sometimes status is not updated on GCkey portal. However, there might be updates on the tracker. Here is the link.

processing is very fast from india unless applications might become a part of backlogs. Hopefully, it is not the case.

yes exactly Back ground & Eligibility is in progress and I'm hearing from people who applied after me, getting results . Backlog it seems is my worry I hope not.

You can't do anything. Basically, your file has been flagged for a second level check with an officer given you have prior refusal. The officer will look at your application and decide if they want to schedule a visa interview, approve your application or reject an application. Once the application is chosen for a secondary review normal processing times do not apply and it may take few weeks or few months and no one can tell you how long it will take.

sad to hear that. can you tell us what exactly happened during your interview phase? did it take place? as per your GCMS notes there was an interview.

Also please specify what genric reasons they have mentioned in your case.

You need to get some ties showing you’ll return to India . You were in Canada so long , almost eight years , with extensions , you need to show a reason why you’ll return home . What do you have to show you’ll go back ? You said you’re not working

visit was for 1 month - purpose was to visit a friend and travel around canada ; funds shown around 12000$ ; family ties in home country to return ; my friend lives in Canada .
