Hi guys,

My wife is going to come on Visitor Visa. I was collecting info for inland Sponsorship. I have Question regrading my spouse completed here PHD but she didn't get her provisional certificate or completion certificate for now, as she didn't give her VIVA. she will giver viva through online and complete here PHD. What to show in my inland visa or OWP.

Education as on going ? is it ok to say if i am applying for work permit- Spousal. how should i proceed this situation.

I don't understand your question. Where is the school/university that she is gettiong her PhD? If it's a Canadian school, she will need study permit.

if it's not Canadian, she can study remotely with her visitor status. If she wants to work part time, she can wait for the OWP and work when the OWP is grant. In terms of her work/study history on applications, yes, her schooling is on going. She is still studying until she got her PhD. And her highest eduction would be whatever degree she had completed before her PhD. (likely a master's degree)

I believe by Viva you mean the oral examination?

At any rate: the status of her education/PhD degree is basically irrelevant for spousal sponsorship (meaning it doesn't affect the app). Personally I would just tell the truth: mark that the degree is not yet complete and include a short letter of explanation that the oral examination is pending. Situation as of the date of application, that is. No need to update IRCC after the degree is completed.

I'm assuming the degree institution is outside Canada, so no study permit issues.

Oh thank you guys, Ya PHD is not in Canada, its outside. Yup oral examination is still pending. My Question was is it ok to say in inland PR and Open Work Permit. Will it cause any issue if the PHD is still pending from other Country? while applying for Spousal OWP.

studying outside of Canada doesn't affect sponsorship nor OWP application.

(I assume that you are a PR and just sponsoring her for PR) SOWP is generally used for foreign worker applying for a sposual work permit.

Yes i am PR. She got her Visitor Visa. Once she arrives here, I will apply for inland Spousal Application.

I heard that once i get AOR from Inland Application. I can apply for OWP.
