I'm not sure as well, but I'm guessing it's background verification as that shows as 'In Progress' when I log in to the status tracker.
Please let me know if you get any updates on the next steps as well.

Hi Members. Please help.....this is urgent.....my application was rejected a few times. My son will be 22 this coming September. I am very worry. I try to re-submit but there are a few questions that I want to be clear....please help
1. IMM 1344 has to be hand-signed and submit separately? I made copies of IMM 1344 and have my son signed and take picture of the signed IMM 1344. He emailed the picture, then I printed it and signed then retake the IMM 1344 with both signatures . Where do I upload this picture? Only the signed picture or the entire copy IMM 1344 form, the one that I used to send to my son? I tried to upload to the original, required IMM 1344 upload portal but it did not take my file due to different criterial. Please advise.
2. Do I need to re-submit my previous paper application to show IRCC that I did correct my last mistakes? My second mistakes was that I did not read properly and signed the consent form instead of my son.
3. How to upload multi-letters of explanations?

It's been many days since Sponsorship Eligibility Approval, and I didn't receive any updates. Usually in a day or 2, we get medicals right? Do medicals not needed for infants?

My wife’s spouse application is currently progress. She has done parts of her medicals, just the X-ray exam is left to be done due to her pregnancy.
She has giving birth now. What do I need to do to include our baby to her application?

You do not really need to 'include' the baby to the application, since the child is a Canadian citizen (by descent from you). However there are some things you should do, the most important of which - time-wise- is to get the x-ray and hence medicals completed.
Other bits - that will take a bit of time because of docs needed:
-in due course you should add the child to your spouse's additional family information form;
-recommend a short letter of explanation that the child is a Canadian citizen since birth and you will or have applied for citizenship proof and a Canadian passport for the child.
Note, technically these two steps do not require - formally - that you show documents of the child but if you provide them without the child's docs, you can expect you'll get asked for them before too long. (Personally I'd go ahead and provide once you have birth certificate of the child).
-birth certificate showing the parent is a Canadian citizen (translated etc if necessary).
-copy of the application for proof of Canadian citizenship.
-probably some local ID or foreign passport of the child. (May be needed for citizenship / Cdn passport app)
-Canadian passport (probably temporary) for the child. (I doubt IRCC would require at this point but will be needed anyway for travel)
For the last: contact the embassy/Cdn consular section where spouse resides or the global affairs consular hotline. Basically you will apply for a temporary passport for the child on basis that the child is presumed to be a citizen by parentage ('descent'), which you demonstrate by the other docs and the app for proof of Canadian citizenship.
While it can seem like all these steps take some time, they probably are manageable within the time period that spouse would need to get PR approved anyway and/or child ready to travel. In some countries there may be additional or bad delays in getting local ID / docs for the child.
Don't forget - in some countries permission to travel may be needed if the child will travel with just one parent.
[Side note: some of this documentation requirement is so that IRCC knows the child is a citizen ... because a child who is not a citizen and not declared can never be sponsored in future. So keep in mind they're just trying to make sure the child is properly accounted for.]

I have a follow up question- Should I be filling an online application or I have to submit a paper application to the local embassy where my child is currently in.
I did do some search but the information on their website was somehow misleading to me.
There was a section that says if the child is born outside Canada, they must apply via paper application.
Secondly, i did check using a web tool on CIC website. After answering a series of questions, it says I can apply via online application.
Now I am not sure which is true. Any idea please?

If you are referring to the citizenship/passport app: contact global affairs, or the embassy, directly. Don't rely on the online info for this.

I checked the Permanent Residence Portal for the PA (my child) and Sponsor (myself), the status both show as 'closed'. However, in the PA's portal, the background is still showing as 'In process'. Is this normal? I have not heard anything on COPR. Is it supposed to be in the same mail with the passport? Or, is it going to be an e-COPR that will be delivered to me through another email? did you have to include police report in the background Schedule A?

It says I need to update my sponsorship agreement. Meanwhile it’s the same information I submitted. Help is needed.
