So Hopefully I’ll receive it soon! Is it normal that Background verification is still in progress?
should I try to call CIC?

Hello,
Any advice on how to proceed with the test preparation? Any online links to follow other than the PDF that we have from Discover Canada? Much appreciated.

Fill what you saved in your ledger because if you don't, they will see the entry anyways and wonder when the exit was...
In actuality, if you travel to your home country for example, Canada isn't stamping you out. They stamp your return so it explains why they don't have your exit stamps.
If they have any questions while processing your application, they will reach out to you for an interview to verify your travel.
Alternatively, scan all pages of your passport showing exit and entry stamps and you are good.
Thanks @ceejay132
I have another question.
I had work permit between Jan 2018 till Dec 2020, I applied for status change as CTO in august 2019 and got the approval on Nov 2019. I received the ITA July 2020 and received PR on Feb 2021. Now in physical presence calculator tool I see my eligibility. ( i have around 300+ days of out of Canada days).
Since I'm the only applicant I proceeded with Online application. There, I see " did you renew your work permit, So I entered the start and end date and selected YES. But It replied " not eligible" It seems that its calculating the work permit date as Jan 2018 til Dec 2020 only.
I want to claim full 365 days before PR date actually.
Should I claim work permit end date as Feb 2021. Do you think they will reject?
Once you get your ITA, does the status remains same or its not calculated?
Any idea or clues on how to address this?

You can try the Canadian Citizenship 2023 App for practice and watch videos on YouTube. Everything is from Discover Canada, sometimes with twisted words. Once you know the info, it wouldn't matter how they ask a question. Good luck.

Hi all, I am new to this thread. Just joined this noon. I want to ask if it is normal since it's been over a month of receiving AOR. But since then I have not seen any updates on tracker. The Updated date shows: June 24,2023 on the tracker. How long does it take to receive test invite or background check completed? Thanks.

You can look at previous months threads to get a good idea of timelines.

Typically the process takes 6 months. This is assuming you have no issues or your file doesn't get stuck. The 6 months is usually broken down into:
1. AOR : 1week min - usually 1 month
2. BG, L, P, P, Citizenship Test : 1 month min - usually 3-4 months
3 Oath Ceremony : 1 month min - usually 2 months.

Now obviously some people are lucky and will hit minimum processing times and be done in 3-4 months, most people will be 4 - 8 months and then some unlucky people might get stuck for years. Getting stuck usually happens when theres a problem in your file or you've just gotten a really bad officer (read some threads from 2020/2021 to get a better picture- warning, it is filled with very angry people).

Having submitted in may and only got AOR is still within a healthy timeline, and I would not worry about not receiving bg check like some people here, there have been cases where bg check has happened last (3-4months in) while other checks and even tests were completed. You should receive test invites soon. If you see no updates for 3-4 months after AOR, then it'd be a cause for concern. But for now, you are good!

Thanks alot for clarifying my doubt and for your detailed response. I was unsure since there are people who received AOR in July but got their test invites already and background completed. So thought to just clarify. But it surely does makes sense with what you explained above. Let's hope everything goes smooth. Thanks.
