Hi, I applied for PR with my spouse (non-accompanying) in march 2023 and while my PR application was in process My wife applied for visitor visa in may 2023 and it got rejected in June 2023. The visa officer gave the generic refusal form and the reason that is usually given to the applicants ( that you will not leave Canada at the end of your stay and you have significant ties to Canada and not in your home country and you don't have sufficient funds to support your self - even though we showed sufficient funds). But I got COPR in the following month of July 2023 (this month). Now I am planning to sponsor my wife. MY QUESTION IS :- How should I explain the rejection of my spouse's visitor visa while doing her sponsorship application. I would Highly appreciate your advice.

I don't understand , to whom do you think she or you have to explain it to?

She has the copr (and presumably visa or ETA). That's all she needs. Noone is going to ask about previous visa refusal when she arrives.

You would simply select "yes" for the previous refusal question and then indicate the main refusal reasons (i.e. lack of ties, insufficient funds).

She doesn't have a COPR. OP listed her as non-accompanying and has to sponsor her after he moves to Canada.

Thank you for your quick response. I can let them know about the refusal reasons from visa officer but what i am really concerned is how can I justify them that, now I want to apply for her sponsorship after her rejection of visitor visa. Will it affect her sponsorship application? ( I am living in Canada and I applied under CEC program, while my application for pr was in process at that moment i was also in Canada and when my wife applied for visa to come visit me i was still in Canada and it got rejected)

There is no justification needed. You simply need to declare the refusal and the reasons for the refusal.

I am on the same boat. Did you explain the refusal in your letter such as why she was refused, etc. ? Thank you.

Yes i explained all 4 reasons the officer gave. Nothing else besides it.

I guess I could briefly talk about it in the letter but not sure about explaining the reasons as they know it already. I am writing the letter to prove our marriage is genuine and not to convince the officer for the tourist visa.

I mean i just stated all 4 reasons they gave at in the refusal letter. That's all. For proof of marriage, i have prepared a word file which includes all photos of marriages with friends and family and chat history with translation.
