You don't need as long as they didn't ask for new one, it depends on the case officer, since COVID19 issue they had a policy to use the old bio if u did for new PR applications, although sometime they don't stick with it, so if u got BIL go for it, otherwise don't bother about it.

Guys, I applied online under AIP inland. My passport expires in 6 months and I am at the decision stage ( got PAL). Is there a chance that my PR gets rejected due to passport expires in 6 months?

No. PR application do not get rejected for such reasons however if you were in outland applicant, they might had requested for passport renew because they get PPR once the approval decision is made.. Since you're inland, I think most likely they may not but , passport must be valid before they make decision on your application. In any cases, be it inland or outland, they (IRCC) will let you know. And you anyways have to renew your passport in near future.

Also an advise - when you know that non-express stream processing time can be as long as 20~months or even more in some cases..(Standard being 11~12 months but not guaranteed) you should always try to have passport validity 2x times of the processing time.

i got a dumb question. Are we allowed to visit other provinces for holidays / vacation and shit after getting the pr card? afaik provinces keep track of flights and stuff, no idea
My dear fellow traveller - read the following page carefully and in full. Generally, Permanent Residents have the right to live where they want in Canada as per section 6 of the Canadian Charter. The only exception is that they have waived that right when applying for PR. However, that, too, refers to taking up residence and not short holidays/trips. Take a read - there is plain language interpretations further down the page: https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/csj-sjc/rfc-dlc/ccrf-ccdl/check/art6.html

Yes, PAL in November and no movement thereafter. Vo is Edmonton, whats yours?
If I recall, you're at 14th or maybe 15 month journey and counting - I think you will very soon get decision. Have you tried calling IRCC to know what's the latest?

WOW! I am impressed by your memory and thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Yes, you are correct; my AR is 26 November 2021. So it will be 15 months at the end of February this year. I called IRCC at the end of Jan and the call centre agent said that I have passed all my eligibility and background checks - all I have to do is wait for the case processing officer to work on my application. While this is certainly good news, waiting is what I have been doing for almost 15 months now and I am very tired. As you said, hopefully, I will see movement on my application.

HI all, I have a question: today, I just called the agent and I was shocked that my application is still at Sydney Processing Centre (Nova Scotia), although all of things are done (MP, PAL- August 29, 2022, ADR reviewing from Nov 30, 2022). Do you know whether any case someone receive the Portal 1 from Sydney Office? I am so sad... because, it is normally the application must transfer to another secondary offices like Montreal, Calgary... Although, the agent said my application looks good without any request! Your information is much appreciated! Many thanks!
