I finally got email for Oath ceremony for 30th Jan. Surprisingly, it's in-person in Mississauga.

Since its in-person ceremony and I am going to get the certificate on the same day, Can I apply for passport on the same day or I have to wait for some time?

Any idea whats the ideal number of months before PR card expiry we should apply for renewal?

Validity

Most PR cards are valid for five years, but some are only valid for one year. The expiry date is printed on the card. When your PR card expires, you can’t use it as a travel document. If your PR card will expire within six months, you should apply to renew your card. You need to be in Canada. If you’re re-entering Canada by commercial vehicle and have an expired PR card, get your PRTD to re-enter Canada.

I remember reading somewhere (in this forum) that you need to wait for couple of days. But I am not able to locate the page now...
Maybe you could ask the agents this question during the function.

I applied for my passport on the 11th and the option was to pick it up on the 25th. Is there a way to know the status or collect it a day in advance? I know it's just another day but I'm asking because have to go on a business trip and tomorrow is the last day to submit docs with travel partners.

My passport mail application was received on Jan 10 and today I received the passport, so quick. It was regular service application

Sent signed form same day. No response or update yet. Emailed to follow up. ... hope something moves soon..

My point is should we expect delays like citizenship application? it says 77 days but I wanted to check if it has been longer for people here

I live in Hamilton but got my test invite from Niagara IRCC. Having waited for 4 months after test was completed, I got LPP completed on Jan 3 (DM). Now, when I reached out to the Niagara IRCC email that sent my test invite about my Oath status, it was the Hamilton IRCC that replied, and I was told that I have to wait 3 - 4 months after DM for the Oath.

No God will not allow that to happen!

Almost seems like a batch process. Also received test from Niagara falls, DM on Jan 3 and reply from Hamilton IRCC saying it'll take 3-4 months

Oath completed Jan 11 (Saskatchewan office, I'm based in Vancouver) and also sent the form the same day.

And unfortunately also waiting for the citizenship certificate to land on my doorstep..
