Wow that was fast. Pretty uncommon for approval without short hearing and for approval to come so fast. Do you have a record of participating in protests? Jailed for protesting?

congrats, I passed my medical on Jan 4th, today I have received interview call in letter. I have an interview in 2 weeks. Hope put my docs in less complicated case
Are you from one of the countries where there is a high approval rate like Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea and a few more? An openly LGBTQ+ person living in a society where being openly LGBTQ+ puts your life at risk? Those are the typical cases that are considered a less complicated but most still need a hearing just a shorter hearing and not uncommon to wait up to a year to get a hearing even for less complicated cases. The example posted is fairly uncommon.

I found this article:

If an Iranian national can make their way to Canada, they can institute a claim for refugee protection upon or after arrival. The claim will be determined by a member of the Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board, a tribunal with expertise in refugee law and with access to current human rights evidence on Iran. The tribunal may determine refugee claims on paper, i.e. without an oral hearing, and can expedite this process so that claimants can obtain a decision in short order and quickly apply for permanent residence, which in turn would allow them to bring dependents who remain in Iran to Canada.

That rarely happens in general for all countries. Most Iranians end up getting processed normally and some under less complex with short hearing. If you have been imprisoned for protesting, are a well known/ recognized critic of the government, are openly part of LGBTQIA+, etc. then there would be a much better chance of being processed as a less complex case and maybe even without a hearing. Very few applications are processed without a hearing. It is technically an option but that doesn’t mean anything. Would assume that you will need a hearing whethera shorter one or a longer one will depend if you are considered under less complex or not. You should be prepared that it could be 4-5+ years before being reunited with a spouse or dependent children and that is if everything gets approved without appeals. There has been a very large influx of refugees who entered in 2022 so wait times will get longer.

Anywhere up to around a year. Most less complex cases still require a short hearing

I was working as a project coordinator for a project back in my homeland (Democratic Republic of Congo) in an N.G.O , which aims to protect and promote the rights of the LGBTQ+ community which is victim of bad treatment and most of the time criminalized for outrage to public decency and face up to 3 years, most of the time some unfortunate members of the LGBTQ are kidnapped. Protecting this community was very difficult and several times we have been arrested and tortured by the police. I came in Canada and claimed asylum last year in August. I had a very long admissibility interview on the phone for about 30minutes with the ministry representative. He told he wanted to hear my story although I submitted the basis of claim via the Portal online. during the same interview I honestly told him that I am not gay or transgender or anything related to LGBTQ+ , do you think the fact of telling him the truth that I am not gay but I was just promoting and protecting the right of the LGBTQ+ community was a good idea ?? Some people tell lie that they are gays but I couldn’t lie. An other question is do you think I have to submit so many evidences ?? Because the only proof I have ; the status of the N.G.O and the police invitations. There is no medical report to explain some torture in the jail since in my country we are used to the auto medication for some medical issues. Do you think it’s enough ? Honestly I can’t create anything like an evidence but I am scared they might tell me it’s not enough. My case was referred to the IRB office right after My interview with the minister’s representative and I have already received workpermit.
