Applied for WP renewal 200+ days ago, still no permit...anyone else?

Hi everyone,

I'm a US citizen living in Montreal on a temporary work permit since 2019. I applied online to renew it on June 3rd, 2022. My permit expired on August 19th. It's been over 200 days since I applied, and I still haven't received my renewed work permit. I can't get through to anyone on the phone at IRCC. I filled out the form on the IRCC website, and just got a template email back a week later telling me to check the processing times on the website. I even reached out to my local MP, who (I was pleasantly surprised) got back to me right away, and said that the IRCC had been notified about my case and someone would follow up, but that was over a week ago, and there is still no change in my application status.

Anyone else in a similar situation? Are there any other options for me to get my renewed work permit?

1 week isn’t long enough for someone to follow-up especially during the week before Christmas when staffing is not at 100%.

Thanks for your response. When do you think I can expect to hear back? Considering it's now been more than a month longer than the usual processing time, I was hoping that it wouldn't be much longer...
