Guys,

I think i might have made a mistake in my dads first name while submitting the interest to sponsor form. I dont have a copy of the 2020 interest form i submitted. I have one interest form i submitted in 2018. Is there a way i can get it from IRCC ? How do i make the correction of dads first name?

N
How do you know that you made a mistake?

Let's say you do, do you know the first name used in the interest form?

If you know that, I believe you can attach the letter of explanation for the name used in mistake and the correct name with identity documents.

Not sure if you can pull up that information now.

Thats a very good question. First name should be good and used the correct one.

Reason is my dad did not use one last name in the old passport and he started using it recently. So i have no idea whether i used the correct full name as per his current passport (or) did i use the old last name as i had only his old passport in hand at that time?

Electronically sign and then validate it.

  • Complete and electronically sign the PDF form: Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344)
    • This form must be completed and electronically signed by you (the principal applicant), the sponsor and the sponsors’ co-signer (if applicable). The original PDF document and barcodes must be uploaded to your online application. Make sure you validate the form and generate the barcodes prior to uploading the form.
I have a question here. I did not know that it creates bar code and everytime i validated, it created multiple barcodes, is it ok to submit?

Guys,

Thanks for all your help sofar. I posted in another thread and thought of posting here as many of us are needing help for 2022.

Questions

1) IMM 1344

------> Q7B) it asks for my (sponsor) client id/UCI code .Where do i get this information (or) should i leave it blank?

2) IMM 5669
--------->Q2) Your full name written in your native language - This is an online form and how can i enter my dads name here in my language here?

3)IMM 5771 (CHECKSHEET)
---------> It asks for parents passport, do i scan all the pages (or) just front and last of their passports and upload that.

4) Photos of parents to be digitally uploaded and name, dob on the back.

----------> My fathers name is very long and does not fit in the back of the pictures taken. Can we put the first name and put just the first letter of the remaing middlename and last name (Ex;: Jose francis guerardo as Jose F.G)

5) Interest to sponsor form submitted in 2020
----------> I think my dad's name changed between then and now and I just noticed by checking his passport which was issued in Jan 2022. How can i find out what i submitted in the sponsor form in 2020? How can i fix the issue (Interest to sponsor form may be filled with Francis Guerardo, but now he added his other name also and called Jose francis guerardo)

Help appreciated,
N

I am putting together my application and confused whether I should include copy of my PR card as well because I became a citizen earlier this year? I was planning to include my citizenship certificate and a letter of explanation for change of status but I had provided copy of PR card when I completed the interest to sponsor in 2020.

Please advise. Thanks.

Include copy of your PR card as well your citizenship certificate and explain it in the letter of explanation that your status changed from PR to citizen since your submitted the interest to sponsor form in 2020.
They know that as it has been 2 years since submission of interest to sponsor form, the status might change, as is the case with you. Its not an issue.

DO NOT include your PR card as its no longer valid.

Submit your citizenship certificate and include a LOE clarifying the status change.

Hi, I am filling out the imm0008 form and I am confused about the dependants. On dependants page , It says “You must provide details about each of your family members, whether they will come with you to Canada or not. You must list all your children even if they are already permanent residents or citizens of canada” . Do I need to fill this imm0008 for me as well? I am no longer a dependant and I am the one who’s sponsoring my parents.
Since you are not their dependent, you are not part of the "family member" in IRCC terms.
Only include your information in the "additional family information" form.

I received the invitation in October 2022, expressed interest in Oct 2020 and going to start preparing for the application. I know my question might be answered somewhere in this forum:

1. If I expressed interest in 2020, then which years CRA Tax Notices should I'll be counting for the application.

2. I expressed interest for my mother only as father wasn't interested. So I added my mother's name only during the expression. Since IRCC didn't mention name of my mother when I received invitation letter from IRCC as the letter only referred to me (sponsor) and it says "Parents" only instead of my mother's name. Does this mean If I apply for my mother only as principal applicant, my father will get PR automatically even though I didn't list his name anywhere during expression. if not, then does my father has to go for medical too?

3. Getting a marriage certificate is lengthy process now a days in India due to corrupt system as my parents were married almost 40 yrs ago. Though they are listed under each others passport as spouses also on my birth certificate, Can I use an notarized affidavit that affirms that they are married.

Thanks

1. You must meet LICO for 2019, 2020, and 2021
2. Both have to apply with mother as PA and father as non accompanying. He must undergo the medical and pass it. He doesn’t automatically get PR if he doesn’t maintain residency.

1. I was thinking it's 2017, 2018 & 2019 year's LICO.
2. Means if originally I didn't mention father's name in the application, he still will get PR alongwith my mother even if he is non-accompanying apart from the later residency days after PR?

1. it was for 2020 PGP. Now you are applying for 2022. So it's the previous 3 years' income. (2021, 2020, 2019)
2. Your father needs to be in the application as non-accompanying. If he is non-accompanying, he will NOT get PR. But he still needs to pass all the checks (medical, police, background) and your income requirement needs to include him when you count number of family members.

@sch93 you should be okay submitting a copy of the PR card along with your citizenship certificate, just explain that it is an older copy. If you want, you can also include the photo of the destroyed PR card if you have it (assuming you might have emailed it to IRCC as part of your virtual citizenship oath ceremony).
The guide 5772 clearly states that you have to upload the same document as IRCC will use it verify the information in your interest to sponsor form.

When will they open the site to apply for intent to sponsor family members again? We have MIL on a SuperVisa here...can we apply for her within Canada if we even get the invite?
