Hi Everyone,

I am trying to get our H1-B extension and H4 extension visas stamped via dropbox since we are PRs and reside in Canada.

May I know what are all documents you attached and sent in courier ?

My queries:
  1. Do we need to send prior passport ?
  2. Should we send the original Form I-797 or does a copy of it suffice?
  3. For H visas, it states Job offer from United States employer and a Certified Department of Labor approved application. Would an employment verification letter suffice?
Thank you in advance!

General Required Documents - For All Visa Types
  1. Current Passport valid for travel to the United States. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the United States (unless exempt by country-specific agreements.)
  2. Passport containing the most recently issued U.S. visa (if applicable).
  3. Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 confirmation page.
  4. Confirmation and Instructions page printed from this website
  5. One 5 x 5 cm (2 x 2 inches) color photo taken within the last 6 months. Further details regarding Department of State photo guidelines can be found at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html.
  6. Accompanying family members, unless entering the United States for another purpose, should present a marriage certificate (spouse) and/or birth certificate (for unmarried children under 21), as applicable.
  7. Copy of proof of your legal status in Canada
(H) TEMPORARY WORKER
  • Receipt Number for your approved petition as it appears on your Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker Form I-129 or Notice of Action Form I-797 from USCIS (does not apply to H1B1 visa applicants).
  • Job offer from United States employer and a Certified Department of Labor approved application (applies to H1B1 visa applicants only).

Yes. That’s what I fear. But my plan is to stay couple of months in Canada and then maybe come back for few weeks to USA and the go back again.
So maintain residency in both Canada and US. I work from home and my employer is fine with me working remotely from Canada.
Were you able to apply for Stamping via dropbox?

Anyone who received a In Person Interview call can share the additional docs we may have to ready with.

Hello - I am residing in Canada on PR for 2 years. I recently got my H1b Cap 2022 approved from my employer. I filled the Ds 160 and created profile and answered questions on the us visa site for toronto. But the portal is not letting me pay the MRV visa fees. I am getting struck at the page after answering all the questions. when i try to click the button pay visa fees it loops back to the page where it shows on right hand side no appointment available.
am i doing something wrong ?
Please help

Hi, I am an Indian citizen and applied for Canada PR and US H1. I got my H1 approved and am waiting for visa stamping in india. However, due to circumstances I will be landing in canada with my Copr this October. Can i opt for the dropbox or in person interview for the first time H1 stamping in canada as a new permanent resident? Please give your suggestions.

Yes you can use you COPR instead of your PR Card as a proof of residency. Based on the answers you give in the DS-160 questionnaire you may qualify for a Visa Waiver or asked for an in person interview.

What are the chances of h1 visa approval for first time stamping in canada for PR holders?

What options did you select to qualify for dropbox?
I am in a similar situation and it takes me to the payment page and schedule an appointment page.

I answered "Yes" to this question :

Are you traveling from another country to apply for a U.S. visa in Canada? *

Should I answer no for it? I am currently residing in the US , have a PR card and moving to Canada in Mar/Apr but want to get H1 visa stamped via dropbox in Canada in Dec/Jan time frame so I can make a trip to India.
