I love how IRCC told everyone to apply online and just completely ignore Online applicants. At this rate it could be years before online applications are attended to, or they could claim they lost the online files and make us reapply

There is just one online application from January that has received the test invite, as per the tracker. No movement at all on the applications even after 6 months.

How do I check or what is Ecas?

ecas is the old tracking system. Currently it's still being used for paper applications (in addition to the new tracking system).

Most updates are same on both the old and the new tracker but the old tracker (ecas) tends to show updates a few days earlier than the new system.

You can check your status using either your UCI or the application number in the AOR.

Thanks for this. I was able to see a bit about my wife's application on the old portal. So the first ghost update on her profile meant that they had started processing her application. Not sure what the 2nd ghost update is about.

I just checked the tracker for my application status, turns out background verification status has changed to completed since Jun 22, though I haven't received an email to inform me concerning the update. Is this normal ? Also is there a time frame in which the citizenship test in sent after background verification is completed ?

There have been 2 ghost updates in my wife's file. AOR June 15th
Ghost update 1 July 15th
Ghost Update 2 July 21st


No change in anything except date.

Both my daughters' files show 0 movement.

So yeah, I think it's normal.

Same for my family as well...AOR JUNE 15, One BG check was completed July 15th, and Ghost updates...That's it.
We may receive a test Invite in a few days..

I am hoping that is the case for the test.

Although my own personal application was sent on March 5th online. 0 movement in that, which sucks. but I will be happy if there is some movement in my family's file.

Does fingerprints request delay the process a lot? I start to worry now. It's been a month, and I have no updates. I have pretty similar timeline as @messiry , I still don't have background check completed.

no need to worry, my father got finger print too , its normal for IRCC to take around 45 days to update finger prints updates.
