Leaving Canada while Restoration and PR process

Hi everyone, thank you always for the great information on this forum.

I have a question!! Any advice would help!!

IRCC received my PR application on February 2nd, 2022 and I already submitted the biometrics and medical check in May. Prior to that, I had requested an extension of my visitor record last September but it was somehow refused and received the notice in January 2022. After I received the refusal letter, I filed my PR application(Outland application) in January 2022 and then the restoration of my visitor record in March 2022. I am still waiting for the result of the restoration.

My question is that, I have a plan to visit my family in Japan in August and if I leave the country before the restoration is finalized, it will be invalid right?? In that case, would it be trouble for me to come back to Canada? and also does that affect my PR application?? I am very anxious about this situation. I am just crossing my fingers to receive the restoration before my trip....

If anyone can give me some information regarding my situation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
( @scylla could you please give me some advice...if possible? I always appreciate your support!! )

Yes, leaving Canada cancels the restoration application. So once you return to Canada, you'll be reassessed as a new visitor by CBSA to Canada.

You haven't said how you have applied for PR / through which stream. So hard to comment on that. Assuming you applied for spousal sponsorship - you need to indicate if inland or outland.

Hi scylla, thank you very much for your reply.

Sorry for not providing full information about my PR application. I applied under Spousal sponsorship and it is outland.
Ok, I now understand that leaving Canada will cancel the restoration application. In that case, it will be considered that I overstayed in Canada from the time the last extension was refused(January 2022) till I leave here for Japan(I'm leaving in August)? If so, does that affect my PR process? On the PR application, I remember providing the restoration of visitor records as my current status in Canada. Thank you again for your time!!!!!

This won't impact the PR process.

Thank you scylla so much. That I was worried about the most. I couldn't sleep well last night because of it but you released the pressure off me. Thank you again.
Hopefully an immigration officer won't give me hard time at the airport when I reach back....

I really appreciate your advice always. Have a great day!
