Hie I have 1 question about my spouse visa I want to apply for my husband visa for convocation on June . I never apply for my spouse visa when I was student because some lawyers suggested me not to apply for my spouse visa because you only stayed with your husband only for a month . I got my visa in the month of February on that time I was unmarried and I got married in the month of july and after 1 month I came to canada. Is it good dicision to apply for my husband visa for convocation. Please reply I am so confused

So does IRCC know you are married? You would have changed your status.

If you applied for PGWP then dI’d you apply for an SOWP at the same time? That would be the logical step. Or is he not staying in Canada, just visiting. If just visiting, he can apply for a visitor visa. He needs to show ties to home country (job with leave letter, property, investments, immedate famly he cares for), funds, travel history, marriage proof (show you have known each other for a long time since you came to Canada right after marriage) and reason to travel. when is your convocation because he might not get approval in time.

I applied for visitor visa on April 18 with the same reason for my wife to attend my convocation.

Yes I am on pgwp and we got refusal once previously. The reason I didn't apply for sowp is that its taking too long to process
So you addressed all refusal reasons for a visitor visa when you reapplied? VOs are going to assume you should be applying for a SOWP. Processing time is long but with a visitor visa you have to show just visiting plus funds, travel history, ties to home country. If refused again then apply for SOWP.

Yeah that's my plan. I tried to keep enough documents. Hoping for the best

Good Luck! I'm also applying for a visitor visa since my wife will be studying but my OWP got refused because of her 3 month academic english course before the MBA, really stupid reason but what can I do. Only choice now for travelling together is a tourist visa and then changing status once she finishes her course inside Canada.

Not really a stupid reason since rules are clear about eligibility for a SOWP when spouse is taking English course.

if she was taking only an english course of 6 months without a LoA to an MBA program then I could agree but for only 3 months after already being accepted into the MBA program at exactly the same DLI aka University where she will take her academic english course and given the study visa for the whole MBA and even a few more months then it seems kind of stupid really. Especially considering I know other people that did get their SOWP with the same 3 month academic english +MBA program after the rule changed. Not coherent at all.

If she was accepted to the MBA program then why take the English course. Everyone on this forum has someone they know that got the SOWP for the same program but they didn’t. You should be reapplying for a SOWP once she starts her MBA. What were your reasons for refusal? Did you order GCMS notes?
