I didn't say people can't study and pass unless they went to school here, just that they probably wouldn't find it as easy as someone who did. My word of caution was just to tell people they should definitely study and not blow it off because everyone claims the test is so easy! Was asking myself the same question in my opinion anyone who can read and understand French or English can study discover Canada and pass the test regardless of where they did their schooling.
Remembering dates is only one aspect of the test. I'm sure your wife has at least some familiarity with Canadian history even without the dates. Someone without any Canadian background (my partner went to school in India and then the US) may be more or less starting from scratch and there is a lot of material covered in the guide.Definitely not true. My wife is Canadian citizen. Born here and definitely does not remember a lot of the dates when it comes to history.
