Did anyone get the email from IRCC for form 5476 being old? I used the latest form at that time (07-2021) but it seems they updated it in 11-2021 just as I was submitting the application. The email says to send the new document by email but they have also returned the application on the portal account. Do I have to upload the document there as well? Also, it mentions form 5476 for sponsor and 5476 for applicant - i thought its just one document that needs to be signed by sponsor (me), PA (father) and spouse (mother). Any insights?

On May 01, It will be 6 months since I have submitted the application for my parents. I have not received any correspondence from IRCC.

Is this normal for some applications? It appears that my file is untouched. Any suggestions on if I should do anything from my side which might help?

Same boat. Applied Oct 04. Nothing. No ghost email. I called IRCC, didn‘t get helpful information. I may try to make ATIP request to see what will happen..

I dont think you can make an ATIP request without an application number assigned to the file

By mistake I paid for my parents biometrics when applying for pgp. They already did biometrics in 2019 for visitor visa which I completely forgot. Will they issue a refund automatically or do I have to request it?

have friend in 2020 group paid for biometrics twice. extra fee was returned automatically.

Hi Everyone,

Parents Just got biometric requests. They applied Nov 23. Couple of questions

1) Is there an excel type of tracker on this group? Could not find one....
2) Where do you check status these days? The permanent resident portal only says submitted evven though they got biometrics
3) Does biometrics mean we already met the income requirements?

Processing times are 18-24 months. No need to apply for GCMS notes at this point. You can see that your processing is similar to others. Your are at the sponsor eligibility stage so they are looking at things like wither you meet LICO.

Why? checking the completion of application takes six months(or may not start to check), it is very slow.

not sure whether online accepts XF number. If not, have to wait and hope someone will start to check my application in near future.

Hello All,

I need some help in getting information for next steps. I did go back about 15 pages to relate but am confused. I will be traveling out of the country in 15 days and not sure if should be expecting a mail response for my parents sponsorship application...dont want to miss it while i am outside Canada and fail a deadline.

Here is the application details and 3 questions after:

Parents sponsorship submitted: Dec 05, 2021
Email Received on March 22, 2022 with subject: PR Portal (PR application) - Your application status has been updated
When I logged in and checked on https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en - application status is submitted and unable to view

Question 1: Is the above email referred to as "ghost mail" by some of you. I read this is an automated email when an officer started processing. Please advise this is correct.

Question 2: I read about linking GC key. Is this an email request from IRCC PR portal that i should expect and then action?

I also read the F12 option so i tried it to view status of the application. Below is what i see:

Hello,
I am in same boat, i got email today that Your application status is updated, but upon checking on CIC portal, nothing is changed
Submitted Application on: Oct 26
Application was returned as asking for IMM 5406 and IMM 5669, hand signed on Dec 22. Emailed the requested document on Jan 3
Uploaded the explanation letter on online portal and re-submitted the application online so that status is changed to Submitted on Jan 5
Sent web form to double check that if they have received the above sent docs
Got confirmation email back that they have got the requested docs on Feb 3, but in same email they asked to submitted the Use of Representative form, submitted that on Feb 10, and today got ghost email that status is updated

Hi Jasmeet, Did you upload the updated forms on the portal as well? I n my case, they returned application due to use of old form 5476. They want me to email the document. On the portal I have an option to delete the old form, add the new one, sign consent again and resubmit. But the email from IRCC says not to upload on portal. What do you suggest I should do to change the status back to submitted?

Its unfortunate that some early October applicants have no update. did you get XF number by calling them? Also, on F12 info...does your case worker's first name starts with an 'a' and last name ends with 'z'? Just trying to relate if we have same case worker...I am oct 01 appicant

I submitted my application on October 18th 2021. Cic returned my application saying that sponsor birth certificate is not meeting requirement.
My original birth certificate is in my native language. The birth certificate which I submitted is in English and was reproduced by municipal corporation and was issued many years later.
I can not believe they did not accept it .

Where shall I get the translation of my birth certificate ? I live in Alberta.

If you don’t mind, what was the exact issue with your birth certificate? Does the birth certificate say it’s a duplicate or a copy? I also got a birth certificate from municipal committee a few months ago. It is in English and it is digitally signed. It does say date of registration was in 2012 and date of issue is in 2021. Could that be an issue?

I spoke to the CRA agent on phone and requested them for 2018 proof of of income. They mailed it to me and said I will receive it in 15 business days.

Because your case hasn’t even reached AOR. There is no info about processing yet.
