The government of Ontario has extended the deadline for candidates to submit an online application to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), from seven calendar days to 14 calendar days. The move affects the following OINP streams: the Human Capital Priorities Stream, the International Masters Graduate Stream, and the International PhD Graduate Stream.
The extension follows media reports that Ontario's new e-Filing system was experiencing technical glitches that impeded users from completing and submitting their online application.
In a program update published on its website that alludes to teething issued with the system, the government of Ontario stated that 'We are making every effort to ensure we have the technical capacity to meet volume demands and we will continue to monitor the system 24 hours a day, to address any issues.'
The website registered 117,000 visits over four days last week, resulting in what the government of Ontario referred to as 'unprecedented application-volume demand.'
