The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 16 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) yesterday in a draw for its Entrepreneur Immigration stream. The minimum score requirement for this draw was 133, which is in line with the previous draws for this stream.
The Entrepreneur Immigration stream is for experienced businesspeople seeking a pathway to Canadian permanent residence and who can establish themselves in B.C. and invest in and operate a commercially viable business that can provide significant benefits to the provincial economy. Under this stream, candidates are assessed based on a number of factors, including business and/or work experience, personal net worth, adaptability, and their business proposal.
In July of last year, a mandatory online registration system was introduced for all prospective applicants to the Entrepreneur Immigration stream of the BC PNP. A maximum of 200 registrations may be accepted per month.
Once entered into the selection pool, candidates’ final registration scores are ranked along with other registrants. The BC PNP periodically invites the highest-scoring of these registrants to submit applications to the Entrepreneur Immigration stream. Successful applicants will obtain a work permit and will be able to apply for permanent residence in Canada through the BC PNP, as long as their business operation in B.C. fulfills the requirements of the stream on an ongoing basis.
